Here is a swatch of Julep Sally which was in the February 2013 Maven Box. It’s a beautiful creme, light, yellow.
I thought it would be pretty with Vivid Lacquer I Daglaze with Wine.
Again, I used the new Julep Polymer Top Coat. It’s official. I’m in love. Yep. Better and quicker than Seche. Not only does it dry faster than Seche but it also doesn’t get the classic tip wear/pull back that Seche does. I will be stocking up on this top coat!
Here’s another one from the February Maven Box collection. Rebel was in the It Girl box and I’m super glad I got her! It’s a gorgeous silver holo polish.
I have used the Julep Polymer Top Coat twice now. I’m still getting a little used to it. You can see what kind of looks like some cracks in the polish. I now believe this is actually the brush from the top coat making a mark. Next time, I will wait until the polish has dried for a minute or two before I apply the top coat.
OMG. This is like one of the best polishes ever. I am madly in love. I never want to take it off. It’s a light purple/gray holo polish. This is two coats. Enjoy!
If you’re interesting in trying Julep, please use my referral link. :)
This is Julep Marisa and it’s a beautiful, shimmery blue. This is two coats.
This gem is from the China Glaze Bohemian Collection. It changes from gold to green to blue. Blue was the one that was impossible to catch on camera! This is three coats.
Harvest Moon is from last year’s Hunger Games collection. It’s a beautiful copper color that is very shiny. This is two coats.
I love Julep. You probably know that by now since the vast majority of my posts are Julep swatches. However, I hate Maya. This polish is terrible! The color is fantastic, but the application and durability of it is laughable. It’s terribly streaky when it’s going on and then it peels off in big chunks no matter what base coat I use! It’s really unfortunate! I think I’m just going to throw the bottle away since I can’t see myself using it again. It’s really sad because it could be such a great neautral!
This is one of my favorite polishes. It’s China Glaze Want My Bawdy from the Bohemian Collection. It transitions from purple to cobalt. I tried to capture both effects on camera. :)
Get Carried Away is the second (and last) polish I got from the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil. It’s a black jelly with big, fun glitters. Next time I wear this, I plan on putting a black solid polish underneath it so you can’t see my nails! This is three coats.
Sandra was from a previous Julep Maven box and she is one of my favorite colors in my collection. She’s a bright pink with subtle shimmers.
As soon as I put this on, it instantly become one of my favorite red in my quickly growing collection! The name describes this color perfectly. It does look exactly like a Blood Mary! It’s a deep tomato red. It was opaque in one coat but I did two out of habit. It’s creamy and wonderful!
I got Nailtini Frappe in the January 2013 Ipsy MyGlam Bag. From the name, I thought it would be a little more light brown in tone, but it is really an off-white milky color. It reminds me a lot of Julep Jennifer. It’s a great base for a natural nail or a classic french mani.
I went into Sally Beauty today and guess what collection was buy one, get one free?! That’s right, the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil collection! So I picked up Running in Circles and Get Carried Away.
Running in Circles is a wonderful green shimmer that is very eye-catching. It went on easily with two coats. This will be a great color for Christmas manicures as well as some in the spring–especially St. Patrick’s Day! I can’t tell you how much I’m loving this polish!
Julep Ellie is one of my favorite subtle polishes. She has glimpses of nude, green, and pink. It’s very challenging to photograph, but I hope you get the idea!
I picked this little guy up in my most recent Little Black Bag. What a gorgeous color! It’s a dark blue that is a touch reflective. I loved this color on my nails!
For this mani, I started with two coats of Julep Viola which is a deep, dark purple. It almost looks black if you don’t look closely. Then I put one coat of China Glaze Luxe and Lush which is from last year’s Hunger Games collection. It’s a white flakies glitter that catches almost ever color in the light!
It’s Saaaaturday! Hooray!
Here is a swatch of Michael Marcus Tarte. I received this polish in my most recent Little Black Bag.
Tarte went on well. It’s an an orange-red with gold micro-shimmer. It is very much a holiday-looking polish so I probably won’t get much use out of it until next year. :)
I received this ncLA Hello, I Love You polish in my most recent Little Black Bag. It’s a dark purple-fuschia. It’s a beautiful color for the winter months!
This unnamed Julep glitter came in the New Year’s mystery box. I am in love! It has silver, gold, copper, and black glitters. This is one coat over China Glaze Harvest Moon, which I selected because of its copper color. I love how multidimensional this beauty is!
This beauty was from a past Julep It Girl Maven box. Caroline is a gorgeous red with copper under tones that really shines in the sun!
Welcome back and happy Sunday! Today we have a swatch of Julep Ava which is from the January Julep Maven Bombshell box. It’s a very subtle light pink–almost white–that has micros shimmers. It’s beautiful and will be perfect for some french manis!
I received Julep Sienna in the New Year’s Mystery box but you may have seen it in a past Maven box. At first, I thought it was more of a light brown when looking at the bottle, but now that I have it on my fingers, it’s definitely a gold. It is very pretty and reflective. If it was silver, I feel like I could almost seen my reflection in it!
Here is Maybelline Color Show Magenta Mirage over Sally Hansen Black Out. This is a beautiful magenta that is very vivid and pigmented. I am excited to try it over a lot of different colors.
In other news, my car is having trouble starting. I hate car troubles! It’s one of those problems where you really just feel helpless and stranded! Fingers crossed that the repairs will be inexpensive!
Thanks for stopping by!
Here is a swatch of Andrea’s Choice Circus Tightrope that I was going to post on my old blog before all my pictures got deleted. (That was a sad, sad day.) It’s really a purple, but in some lights, looks hot pink. It is very pretty. I got it in a previous Ipsy MyGlam Bag.
