Hustle Humble Subscription Box

{Press Sample}

I was sent this new subscription box from Hustle Humble. This box is geared toward entrepreneurs. Since I’m a double entrepreneur, I was excited to see what the box was all about! The box comes out on a monthly basis. Based on what is in my sample box, I think this would have been the March box even though I was sent it in April.

The box also comes with a mini magazine that has a little bit of story behind each of the products. Each product selected is from another entrepreneur like me…or you! The magazine also has little tips about being successful. It’s a fun little booklet!

The March theme was #strikegold and there are some pretty cute items in here! The tie is from Korbata, a Guatemalan brand, made by various indigenous communities.

The Aminocare Ageless Eye Cream is from a company founded in Texas.

The drink Kozy is from Freaker USA and it’s a one size fits all sweater for your drinks! They have a ton of designs.

The shamrock earrings are from Green Tree Jewelry which was founded to provide affordable, fun jewelry from sustainable sources in the US.

Voke Vitalizes are little chewable tablets that are meant to give you energy. I did try one and I’m sad to say these are not for me. I really could have used more energy! I didn’t like the taste and I also didn’t notice any increase in energy. I was still the #lazybetty that I’ve always been. LOL

At first, I had no idea what any of these products had in common. I was pretty confused. LOL. However, after reading the booklet, I think this subscription box is a really cool idea!! There are little tips from each of the companies who have products included. It’s quite inspiring, actually!

Sephora Play September 2016

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the September Sephora Play box to show you. This month there are 6 mini products for me to try out!

sephora-play sephora-play-september-2016

This is a sample of Tory Burch Jolie Fleur Verte which is a light scent mix of lily of the valley, mandarin, neroli oil, and jasmine.

This does smell a little too flowery for me…even though it’s supposed to be light. I prefer a vanilla-based perfume. (Because obviously I want to smell like cake all the time.)

Dr. Jart+ Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer. This does a great job of hydrating my skin. I’ve been testing some wrinkle cream lately, which can really dry out my skin. I put this on top and I feel nice and moisturized again!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. This is my favorite liner of all time. I actually use it nearly every day. It makes it so easy to make winged liner!

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Night Cap Overnight Perfector. Apparently, you’re supposed to put this on damp or dry hair before you go to bed at night and then wake up with beautiful hair. I’m skeptical, but we’ll see…

I haven’t noticed much of a difference with this. My hair always needs to be re-done in the morning. living-proof-overnight-protector

Anastasia Clear Brow Gel is pretty famous for its awesomeness.

Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick in Love Spell. This pink is a little too light for me. I think I look best in berry tones.

Wantable Intimates Collection September 2016

{Purchased by Me}

I decided to treat myself and subscribe to the Wantable Intimates collection. This is a monthly subscription where you get a handful of items ranging from bras and underwear to pajamas and loungewear. The first month is $50 and then $46 going forward. If you’re interested in trying it out also, please use my referral link by clicking here.

This month, I received 4 items, all of which are in the pajama/loungewear category. This first set is my favorite. It’s a long pant with pink and white stripes. It is so freaking soft. I loved wearing it to sleep in last night. It has a tank that coordinates and matches the drawstring exactly – they’re both a lovely mint color! The tank is also very soft and comfortable.

wantable-intimates-september-2016 wantable-intimates

The second loungewear set I got is a little sexier. :) It’s gray with pink polka dots and pink lace trim. This is also soft, but has a more silky touch rather than cotton.

I’m definitely going to stay subscribed to Wantable Intimates for now. New pajamas and underwear are some of my favorite things. And getting new ones in the mail each month sounds like heaven! You can sign up here.

Ipsy August 2016

{Referral Link}

Today I have the August 2016 Ipsy bag to show you! This might be one of the cutest bags we’ve ever received from Ipsy! The 5 items I received are also pretty great this month, too.

This month, I received:
It Haircare 12 in 1 leave in conditioner
Nomad Eyeshadow in Spice Market
Beaute Basics 3 in 1 bronzer
Tarte Lash Paint
Ciate Spinning Teacup

Ciate Spinning Teacup is a nice creamy lilac. This is two coats.ciate-spinning-teacup

This month, I will use all these items! (Just like last month, actually!) I think this means that Ipsy has been doing a really great job lately!

GlitterDaze Aquaholic

{Press Sample}

Today’s swatch is the July 2016 Daze of the Month polish. This month’s polish is GlitterDaze Aquaholic. This is a freakishly beautiful teal holo. I absolutely loved wearing it!

Fairytale Finish July 2016

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the July Fairytale Finish subscription box to show you! This month, the two polishes are gorgeous purples.

The first polish up is Fairytale Finish Purpsicle which is a deep purple holo. Simply gorgeous!

fairy-tale-finish-purpsicle fairytale-finish-purpsicle

The second polish is Fairytale Finish Cotton Candy Blizzard which is a light purple crelly with really fun glitters in it. I needed three coats for this one since it is a crelly.

Once again, Amanda has made some pretty gorgeous polishes!

Ipsy July 2016

{Purchased by Me}

I got my July 2016 Ipsy bag in the mail last week and I finally got around to trying out all the products!

The five products I received are:

theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) shadow in Matt Moskowitz which is a creamy plum color

Befine Food Skin Care face lotion

ML Cosmetics Felt Tip Eyeliner in Emerald Isle

Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

Vasanti Cosmetics Eyeshadow Brush

This is a pretty great bag for me. I literally used everything in it. Sometimes I put stuff away to try later or I give it to a friend. Everything in this month’s bag is mine mine mine!

Here are swatches of the eyeshadow and eyeliner.

Here’s a picture of me wearing or having used everything in this month’s Ipsy bag. I guess I should have taken out my headphones for the picture. LOL. I had to finish my book for book club! Sometimes audiobooks are the only way I can do that! :P

Glitter Daze I Sea Coral

{Purchased by Me}

Glitter Daze I Sea Coral is from the June Daze of the Month subscription box. This will be my last month because I just have to cut expenses to get my dog training business started. I will start my subscription up the very first second I can!

I Sea Coral is a very pink coral with lots of microglitter in it. I only needed two coats for full coverage even though it’s a lighter polish.

Sephora Play Review June 2016

{Purchased by Me}

This month’s Sephora play featured a few of my favorite products!

Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It hair creme is meant to be put into wet hair and then you just leave it be! No drying necessary.

Bare Minerals bareSkin Bronzer is a lightweight bronzer. This one is a bit too dark for me, as most bronzersBenefit

Benefit They’re Real! Mascara is one of my all-time favorite beauty products ever.

Becca Backlight Priming Filter is a shimmering makeup primer that acts as a soft-focus filter.

Tarte Sunscreen lotion will come in handy in July when I have to spend a whole day outside at an event. If you don’t know me, just know that I am 100% an “inside girl!”

Tocca Beauty perfume smells light and flowery.sephora-play-review-june-2016

Here are some swatches of the Bare Minerals bronzer and the Becca primer.

In this photo, I used the Becca Primer and a teeny tiny bit of the Bare Minerals Bronzer. I also used the Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow it Creme (but I did use a curling iron to help my hair out.)

Fairytale Finish June 2016

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the June 2016 Fairytale Finish subscription box to show you! This month, Amanda picked the theme of “teal” for the polishes.

fairytale-finish-june-2016 fairy-tale-finish-june-2016

Fairytale Finish Sparkly Pumps is a teal jelly packed with teal glitters. I used three coats for this one which is pretty typical of a jelly.

Fairytale Finish Glittering Peep Toes is a lovely light teal with beautiful glitter in it.

Another great month from Amanda! These polishes are freaking beautiful!!!

Ipsy June 2016

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Link}

It’s that time of the month! Ipsy time! This month’s theme is “Rebel” and it has a super cute bag to go with it.

ipsy-june-2016 ipsy-june-2016-review

It’s quite a good little haul this month. It’s months like this that keep me subscribed to Ipsy even though I could use the $10/month elsewhere.

First up, I got Delectable lip balm.delectable-lip-balm

This has a vaseline-like consistency and doesn’t seem to have a smell.

Urban Decay Fireball eyeshadow. Urban Decay is absolutely my favorite company for eye shadows. I own all the Naked palettes and I love each and every one of them. I probably only venture away from UD about once a month so it’s pretty awesome to get a little UD shadow in this month’s bag.urban-decay-fireball

This will be a nice mid-tone shade for me. It’s a little too pink to be a highlighter for my pale face, but I could work up some pretty cool eye looks using this as a base.

Brushes! Yay! You know how I love brushes. They’re the gift that keeps on giving. For each brush I acquire, that’s one more day where I don’t have to wash brushes. Huzzah!royal-and-langnickel-crease-brush

Seraphine Botanicals Happy Hibiscus Blush. This is the one item I could have done without. I’m swimming in blushes and I barely use blush. I use it each day, it’s just that I use such a small amount, I’ve never used up a blush in my entire life.

It’s a lovely bronzey-rose color. If any of my IRL friends are reading this and want this blush, just let me know and it’s yours.

Sephora Formula X nail polish in WingWoman. Hooray! Polish! I feel like I rarely get polish from Ipsy so whenever I see “ORDM” on my package, I get super excited. :D

Sephora’s store line of polishes is actually quite fantastic. The formulas are smooth and go on easily. It was a little hard to apply this one because it’s a mini bottle and that means a puny little brush. Luckily, the polish was smooth enough to compensate for a wussy brush.

And that’s all, folks!

Sephora Play May 2016

{Purchased by me}

I finally got the Sephora Play subscription! There was a wait list for a while and I finally got off it! This is Sephora’s answer to all the makeup subscription boxes like Ipsy and Birchbox. I’m especially excited for the Sephora version because they carry so many of my favorite brands.

sephora-play sephora-play-may-2016

This month, the box contained (back row, from left to right): Origins new Maskimizer Skim-optimizing mask primer, Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial, Bite Beauty Lipstick in Kinchi, Briogeo Deep Conditioning Hair Mask, (front row, L to R), Atelier Cologne in Orange Sanguine, and Tarte lip crayon in Latergram.

The Bite Beauty Lipstick in Kimchi is a gorgeous hot pink.

The Atelier Cologne smells just like oranges. That’s pretty much all you need to know.

The Briogeo Hair Mask was a bit of a disappointment. I was very poised to like it, but it made no difference in my hair.

The Tarte Lip Pencil was fine, it’s just not for me. It is almost the exact same color as my natural lip so it made no difference in my look. I like a bold lip so this just isn’t for me. Doesn’t mean it’s bad, though.

The Korres Wild  Rose Face Cream is nice and I’m really glad I got to try it. However, I would never pay that much for face cream. (Sorry, Korres!)

Lastly, there was the Origins Maskimizer. As I’ve discussed in previous posts, I do not do masks so that item was given to a friend.

Fairytale Finish May 2016

{Purchased by Me}

The Fairytale Finish Never-ending Fairytales subscription box is one of the subscriptions that I just can’t get rid of. Each month, Amanda’s polishes get better and better. I know Amanda in person and it’s been really cool seeing her company grow. She’s a talented polish maker and I’m excited every month to see what new pretties await me in my mailbox!

This month’s theme is nautical. We received two full-sized polishes and some nautical-themed decals (anchors and ship steering wheels….whatever those are called).

This is Fairytale Finish Nautical Nonsense. It’s a crelly polish with white and blue glitters in it. The base is an off-white color, leaning toward yellow. I didn’t think I was going to like it much but I loved it on. My husband even commented on it and he’s so used to polish that he’s really stopped commenting on anything that happens over here at my polish desk!

Fairytale Finish Batten Down the Hatches is a deep navy creme polish. I needed the standard two coats for this one.

A Couple OPI Swatches from the New Orleans Collection

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have a couple swatches for you from the OPI New Orleans collection. I picked these up at Sally Beauty a couple weeks ago when they were having a nail polish sale. Yay! Sales!

This is OPI Can I Bayou a Drink. It’s a lovely light pink with a tiny hint of shimmer. opi-can-i-bayou-a-drink opi-can-i-bayou-a-drink-swatch

This is OPI Show Us Your Tips. It’s aptly named because you can see my nail through the polish even after three coats!! I hate saying anything negative about OPI because I really love the brand…but this one is a hard pass for me. It’s a gorgeous color, but look at how much patchiness is still happening after three coats. Makes me a sad panda. :(

Ipsy May 2016 Review

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Link}

Today I have the May 2016 Ipsy bag to show you. This is probably one of the cuter bags we’ve received. Plus, it’s just in time for my trip to visit my family! My cell phone charger and backup battery will have a lovely little pouch to live in. :)

may-2016-ipsy-bag ipsy-may-2016-review may-ipsy-bag

Clark’s Botanicals Smoothing Marine Cream. I haven’t tried this yet because I’m reviewing three (!) other skincare lines at the moment. I don’t want my face to explode so this one will just have to wait until I’ve used up the other stuff. :)

A fluffy brush! Yay for brushes! I love getting brushes in my Ipsy bags. Other than nail polish, it’s probably my favorite thing to get. Why? Because the more brushes I have, the less frequently I have to wash them! #shoutouttolazypeople #aintnobodygottimeforthatinspur-eyeshadow-brush

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow Trio. I was more excited for this trio before I tried it. The lower left shade has too much red in it. I was expecting it to be pinker but once I applied it, it leaned more red/orange.pacifica-coconut-eye-shadow-trio

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara. Maybe actually G-rated in real life? It definitely made my lashes long and black, but it didn’t give me the va-va-va-voom lashes that I like. In my opinion, this is a good mascara for an everyday, casual look. I’ll still be on the lookout for something actually x-rated.smashbox-x-rated-mascara

Soo AE Facemasks. These are up for grabs for any of my IRL friends that want them. I just don’t use facemasks. Ever. I don’t like having to wash my face, put something on it, wait 30 minutes, then wash it AGAIN. #shoutouttolazypeople #aintnobodygottimeforthatsoo-ae-facial-masks

Here is a selfie of me after I used the fluffy brush, shadow trio, and mascara.

Ipsy March 2016

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Links}

Today I’m going to show you the Ipsy March 2016 bag! First of all, this bag is freakin’ adorable and would make a super cute mani. I must file this away in my mental archives to create this mani!

ipsy-march-2016 march-2016-ipsy

Margaret Dabb nail file. This is going in my give-away pile. I only use glass nail files so I don’t have any use for this one.

Nourish Organic Rosehip and Rosewater oil. This is an interesting product. It’s oil and it says ‘body oil mist’ on the label, but it’s in a lotion tube. It seems kinda strange to put a spray in a lotion bottle.

Vera Mona Eyeshadow in Clover. This looks like a beautiful color and I can’t wait to try it!

Pixi by Petra blush in Rose Gold. I’m excited to try this because I’m always looking for a good highlighter shade!

NYX Liquid Suede in Kitten Heels. This is a beautiful matte red. The staying power is also pretty great. It didn’t last through a meal but it did last through coffee and tea breaks!nyx-liquid-suede

 Here I am sporting the NYX Suede lip red-matte-lipstickAnother great Ipsy bag! Have you signed up yet?

Ipsy February 2016

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Links}

Today I have the Ipsy February 2016 bag to review for you! This isn’t my favorite bag I’ve received from them. The last few bags have really been great, but I feel like this one is a little ‘meh’. However, for a mere $10 per month, I’m going to stay subscribed. They usually make me pretty happy! At least I got polish this month so that makes it worth it alone. :)

This month, I received Trust Fund Beauty Polish, Promise Organic Moisturizing Lotion, treStiQue blush stick, Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion, and Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil. I’m obviously most excited about the nail polish. Next, I’m very curious about this primer oil. Seems like a strange, but intriguing idea!

The blush stick is on Bora Bora Coral. It’s a pretty color, but I’m swimming in blushes and I don’t want anymore. :(

I looooove this color. This is Trust Fund Beauty I’m Kind of a Big Deal. This is two coats. I love this pink! Eek!

Fairytale Finish February 2016 – The Jelly Sandwich!

{Purchased by Me}

This month’s Fairytale Finish subscription box brings us the jelly sandwich. This is one of my favorite nail techniques and I haven’t done it in forever! I’m glad Amanda sent these to remind me of an oldie but a goodie technique. A jelly sandwich is where you take a sheer polish and a (usually) a glitter polish and do one coat of each (starting with the sheer) until you reach your desired opacity. This month, the two polishes are Rock Candy (a deep purple jelly) and For the Love of Nerds (a mish mash of purple glitters.)

I ended up doing four layers in all – jelly, glitter, jelly, glitter.

The appeal of the jelly sandwich is that it has a ton of depth. You can see through the purple sheer polish down to the first layer of glitter. It gives it an almost 3D effect. This technique is also referred to as a pond mani. However, I find that people usually use ‘pond’ when it’s stamping instead of glitter. (That kind of mani takes forever to do since you have to wait for each layer to fully dry in order to stamp multiple times. If you ever see a pond mani, take a moment to appreciate how long it took!)

The Fairytale Finish February 2016 is a great duo by the lovely Amanda!

GlitterDaze S-urchin for Love

{Purchased by Me}

Time to start the 2016 GlitterDaze subscription boxes! Last year’s theme was outer space and the new theme is under the sea!! This month, we received GlitterDaze S-urchin for Love which is abso-freakin-gorgeous.

S-urchin for Love has some holographic effect to it, which you can see below in my picture with flash.

January 2016 Ipsy

{Referral Link}

Today I have the January 2016 Ipsy bag to show you!  The bag itself is super adorable this month and I got some great new products to try out.

From left to right, I got pur-lisse Eye Serum, The Balm Mr. Write (Now) in Scott, Beau Gashis ffluffy eyeshadow brush, Lasting Smiles lip balm in peppermint cream, and Hiarki Cream Pigment in Mink.

Here’s a close-up of the Hikari cream. It looks like a gorgeous color.

The Balm Mr. Write (Now) in Scott is a wine colored eyeliner. the-balm-mr-write-now-eyeliner

I was going to take some selfies with these products but to be completely honest….I kept forgetting! So here you go. My Ipsy bag sans selfies. I hope you enjoyed it anyway!

FairyTale Finish December 2015

{Purchased by Me}

I have the December 2015 Fairytale Finish subscription box polishes to show you! This month’s theme is “Things with Wings”. (Next month’s theme is “The Little Mermaid” so if you haven’t signed up, there is still time!

First up is Fairytale Finish Dragon’s Spell. This is a purple jelly with multi-colored glitters. I think Amanda did a good job capturing the essence of what a fairy tale dragon would look like! I can’t help but think of dragon scales when I look at the glitters in this polish.

FairyTale Finish To the Beat of the Hum is a light teal crelly with multi-colored glitters. I did two coats with this one, but the second coat was thicker than I normally would use. That way, I got full opaqueness.

December 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Links}

Today I’m going to show you the December 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag. This month was particularly excellent!  If you want to sign up, use my referral link by clicking here. I got five items plus a super cool bonus item.

This month, I received Klorane eye makeup remover, Thank Me Later eyeshadow primer, Peter Samas Hand Cream, Tarte Finishing Powder, Pacifica Power of Love in Nudie Red.

The extra cool item this month is an eyeshadow palette from Michelle Phan’s company, em. There was a note included saying how I was one of the first people to sign up for Ipsy (I joined the second month they were in business) and they were giving this palette to their long-term subscribers. I don’t know where the cut-off was, but I’m so excited to try this!

Obviously I wanted to try out the em palette right away! Here’s a look I put together using the shadow palette and the Pacifica lipstick from this month’s Ipsy bag. I also used the Elizabeth Mott eye primer.

The shadows had a really nice color payoff. It’s definitely good quality. I also like the colors themselves. You  can do some pretty neutral looks with it or some lovely dark, smokey looks. I’m pleased to have this palette and I know I’ll be reaching for it a lot!

If you want monthly presents from your past self to your future self, Ipsy is a great option. I’m rarely disappointed and I’ve found some pretty great brands that I might not have tried otherwise. I always think it’s well worth the $10/month!

Fairytale Finish November 2015

{Purchased by Me}

Today I’m going to show you swatches of the duo I got in the Fairytale Finish November 2015 subscription bag. This month, the theme was ‘magical’. As soon as I opened the bag, I knew I was going to love both polishes!!

This is Fairytale Finish Mystical Realm. It is a light blue polish with subtle pink shimmers. Two coats of this beauty and I was at full opacity.

Fairytale Finish Crystal Ball is a beautiful microshimmer royal blue. Two coats and I had full opacity!

I think these two blues are gorgeous! And good things happened both days I wore them…so perhaps they are also good luck!

Starlooks Looksbook November 2015

{Press Sample}{Affiliate Links}

Starlooks sent me their November Looksbook to show you! Looksbooks contain purse size versions of 3 currently trending products. They come in an adorable box with a little booklet with suggestions on looks using the products. The theme this month is Shimmering Future. Keep reading to see what came this month!

This month, the products are an eyeshadow duo in Fortune 500, eyeliner in Golden Ticket, and lip crayon in Opulence.

On the first day I used these products, I just tested out the lip crayon in Opulence. This is a deep plum color. I added a touch of nude gloss on top since dries matte.

The next day, I wore every product in the Starlooks Looksbook! Everything from the shadow, to the eyeliner, to the lipstick.

This isn’t a look that is in my normal repertoire but I think it’s kinda fun! And that gold eyeliner will be great for holiday parties!!  You can still sign up in time to receive next month’s box by visiting You can sign up for the monthly membership or you can buy past Looksbooks! Whatever suits your fancy!

Ipsy November 2015

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Link}

Today I’m going to show you what I got in my Ipsy November 2015 bag! I’ve been subscribing to Ipsy for years and I still love getting it every month! It is well worth the $10/month subscription fee. I have a BUNCH of little cosmetic bags now that I don’t know what to do with…but LOTS of makeup that I’ve been able to try and learn whether I like it or not. Some products are now even in my regular routing that I buy over and over again! So let’s take a look at the November bag.

The first thing I pulled out was this eyeliner brush from INSPR. A girl  can’t have too many brushes, right?

Next, I have the Acance + Flawless Effects Skincare mattifying emulsion primer. I’m a little disappointed by this one because I can’t do mattifying products. They dry my face out too much so I’ll be looking for a friend with oily skin to give this to.

Smashbox Full Exposure mascara. Smashbox products are hit and miss with me, but I’m excited to be able to try this mascara. I love trying new mascaras – always in search of my next favorite! (Right now I’m loving Benefit’s Roller Lash. That stuff is awesome.)

Model Co Highlighting Trio. I’m most excited for this product. I’ve slowly been getting into more highlighters and I love how they are looking. These are cream based so I’m not sure if I’m supposed to set them with a powder or not. Wouldn’t that cover them up? But creme products and the humidity in the NW typically don’t get along…so we shall see about this one. Regardless, I’m excited to try it.

treStique Lip Crayon in Nude Nantucket. I typically like a rosier lip but I will definitely try this one on and see what I think!

What do you think of t his month’s Ipsy bag?
