Wonder Woman Nail Art Tutorial

{Purchased By Me}

I have a tutorial video for you today! :O I have recently become obsessed with Wonder Woman. Yes, I know it’s super trendy right now but I couldn’t help myself. I went and saw the movie on opening weekend and fell in love. IN LOVE. So now I’m reading all the comics, watching the old TV show, and reading comics about the comics.

Obviously, I had to do some Wonder Woman nail art!

Items used:

  • Kokie Atlantis at Last
  • OPI Have You Met My Decorator
  • It Girl Alabaster
  • It Girl Plate IG120

And now for the tutorial video!

Various OPI Swatches

I bought a handful of OPI polishes from smackerlacquer when she was culling her collection.  Here are two of the ones I snagged!

OPI No More Mr. Night Sky is a very pretty dark gunmetal.

opi-no-more-mr-night-sky opi-no-more-mr-night-sky-swatch

OPI Is This Star Taken? is freaking hideous. Dear smackerlacquer, how dare you not warn me about the ugliness of this one? I will get you back. Some day. Some how. ;)

This has holo bar glitters (looks great in the bottle) but once dried, you can barely see the glitters and it looks all lumpy and gross.

WHY. WHY OPI? Why do you keep making this gross AF glitters????opi-is-this-star-taken-swatch

Glitter Glitter!

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

Good morning and happy Monday! Today I have some glitter french tips. I started with Omega Bella which was originally sent to me as a press sample. Then, I sponged on OPI Ce-less-tial Is More to the tips.

In other news, I made a quick video showing how I line my lips when I’m wearing LipSense. You can watch it here:

Wine French Tips + My Dog’s Birthday Special!

Today’s mani starts with two coats of OPI Sweet Memories which is pretty close to being an exact match to my natural nail. Once dry, I taped off the tips and used OPI Alpine Snow to make it a french mani. I had these wine glass vinyls for years and years. I think they are from Polished Vino, but I can’t really remember!

My dog, Kirby, is turning 8 on Friday the 17th! To celebrate, I’m having a special all week. Every SeneGence / LipSense purchase will have a free gift included! What is the free gift? Only Kirby knows!! See what I have in stock and ready to ship here.

OPI Infinite Shine Swatches

{Purchased by Me}

I recently obtained 8 shades of the OPI Infinite Shine collection polishes. OPI is one of my favorite mainstream brands so I had pretty high hopes with these. Unfortunately, my hopes were shattered pretty damn quickly.

First of all, the Infinite Shine topcoat dulls the polishes out. I’m used to the glassy finish of Seche Vite and the “shine” from the Infinite Shine collection looks dull and lifeless.

Second, this polish chipped within hours on me. A normal polish formula looks fresh on me for 1-2 days. These didn’t even last as long as regular, less expensive, polish!

While the colors are nice, I will not be buying any more. In my opinion, they are a waste of money and I’m much better off buying the original OPI formula in the same colors.

Nude Lace Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}

I’m still obsessed with It Girl’s new stamping plates. Today, I’m using It Girl Plate 306 to create a nude lace nail art look. I started with two coats of OPI Sweet Memories which is nearly identical to my natural nail’s look. Then, I used It Girl Alabaster white stamping polish to put on the lace design.

I really love how nice and delicate this turned out. Also, It Girl’s stamping polish is ah-maz-ing. Even with small, intricate patterns, you don’t lose any of the image during transfer. Also, it doesn’t stink to high heaven like other stamping polishes. I don’t know what witchcraft Nicole does to her stamping polishes, but it’s certainly working!

Here is a swatch of OPI Sweet Memories. As you can see, it barely even looks like I have polish on at all. It’s the perfect color for nude and negative space nail art.opi-sweet-memories opi-sweet-memories-swatch

Black Heart Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}

I have another mani for you today using It Girl Plate IG115 which is her Valentine’s Day themed plate. I wanted to do something a little less foofy so I started with two coats of OPI I Drive a Supernova. Then, I used It Girl Obsidian black stamping polish and this slashed hearts design to create this black heart nail art look.

Here’s a plain swatch of OPI I Drive a Supernova. It’s a pretty standard metallic silver polish.

Thanks for stopping by again today! :) Leave a comment to tell me what you think of today’s nail art look.

Valentine’s Day Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}

Just in time for Valentine’s Day….I have some Valentine’s Day nail art to show you! The base color for this look is OPI One Chic Chick which is a really nice light yellow creme polish. I finally bought It Girl Coral stamping polish after lusting after it on susanannie‘s nails. I also bought It Girl Plate IG115 which is full of awesome Valentine’s day stamping images. Her shipping is quite fast so if you order soon, you should have it before the 14th.

Time For Some Nail Art + Senegence Sunday Update

In this issue:

  • My janky nail
  • Even more team members! What?!
  • New milestone sales number

Today, I have some pretty lazy nail art for your viewing pleasure. I started with OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s (which is from the namesake collection) and simply used some Pueen Water Decals.

I know my crooked nail has been driving some people crazy. (I’m looking at you, smackerlacquer) but I promise it’s growing out and it will be a thing of the past soon. :) So just bear with me.

I’d like to welcome two more people to my amazing LipSense team! Deana and Jenny! That’s a total of 5 people on my team. We’re having a ton of fun and I love getting to know these girls better. Did you know…6 is my favorite number? Do you want to be my 6th team member???

Last week, I told you that my sales so far were at $4,500. Well, just in the last week, my total sales since I started tipped over $5,100. That’s another $600 in ONE week. (And I barely left my house!) Additionally, my commission check in February is going to be over $500 (so far!) Basically, commission checks from Senegence is money you get for doing jack-shit. I’m getting money for things I would be doing anyway and it’s super fucking weird. And awesome.

Leopard Print Nail Stamping

{Purchased by Me}{Press Sample}

In the mood for some silly nail art? Well, you’ve come to the right place. LOL Today’s mani starts with OPI I Believe in Manicures. (I actually hate the formula for this polish. You can read about that here.) For the stamping polish, I used Mundo de Unas Iris and the leopard print is from an It Girl Stamping Plate.

In case any of you are still wondering about my ring finger… If I’m feeling sassy, I tell people it’s my signature look and/or it’s an ‘accent shape.’ But really, I just broke the corner off and I’m waiting for it to grow out. :P

Red and Blue Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}{Press Sample}{Affiliate Link}

Good morning! Is it cold enough out there for you?? Brrr!! Today, I have nail art using OPI Got the Mean Reds which is from the Breakfast at Tiffany’s collection. I used Konad Blue and a design from It Girl Stamping Plate to create this look.

Gothic French Mani

{Purchased by Me}

Taking a break from stamping, I thought I would show you a gothic, vampy french mani I did. Both polishes are from the OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s collection, which I swatched here. The polishes are OPI Can’t Read Without My Lipstick and OPI Black Dress Not Optional

 dark-french-mani goth-french-mani

I think I’m going to have a New Year’s resolutions post coming up. I need to get my goals out in the open so I can try and be accountable for myself!

Don’t forget that I have a giveaway going on for FIVE ZOYA LIPSTICKS!

Snowflake Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}

Christmas is over, but winter is not! So here is a little snowflake nail art for you today. I started with two coats of OPI Fire Escape Rendezvous (which is one of the more terrible polishes in the Breakfast at Tiffany’s collection. See my full review here.) Luckily, once it was stamped, you can’t really see the awefullness that is this chunky glitter polish. For stamping, I used Mundo de Unas White. The snowflakes are from It Girl plate IG114.

I know the holidays are a wonderful time for some and a terrible time for others. I hope that all of you can enjoy what’s good about them and forget what’s bad. And, don’t worry, the Valentine’s Day candy will be out any minute now.snowflake-stamping-nail-art

OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s Collection

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the  OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s Collection to show you. There are some great hits and some aweful misses in this collection. It certainly was an emotional roller coaster ride to swatch. LOL.

OPI Apartment for Two is a lovely bright pink. I love this color. However, if you have the pink from the Mustang Collection, the Gwen Stefani Collection, or the Sally Beauty Anniversary Collection, then you don’t need this one. Because they’re all the same. :) Gorgeous, but the same.

opi-apartment-for-two-swatch opi-apartment-for-two

OPI Black Dress Not Optional is a great black with a subtle metallic sheen.opi-black-dress-not-optional-swatch opi-black-dress-not-optional

OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a matte white pearl. This one is gorgeous and I’m happy to say that I don’t already have something like this in my collection.

opi-breakfast-at-tiffanys-swatch opi-breakfast-at-tiffanys

OPI Can’t Read Without My Lipstick is an oxblood creme. This is a pretty color and a good formula, but nothing exceptional or new. (sorry, OPI. Lately, I’ve been feeling like you’re out of ideas.)

opi-cant-read-without-my-lipstick opi-cant-read-without-my-lipstick-swatch

OPI Champagne for Breakfast is a super gorgeous microglitter holo. I have it on my tips here over Apartment for Two.

opi-champagne-for-breakfast opi-champagne-for-breakfast-swatch

OPI Sunrise…Bedtime is  pink microglitter holo polish. Another beautiful one. I have it here over Black Dress Not Optional.

opi-sunrise-bedtime-swatch opi-sunrise-bedtime

OPI Fire Escape Rendezvous is one of the disasters of the collection. It is a metallic red (which is pretty) but it has these weird, chunky glitters. Why does OPI feel the need to have the ugliest glitters ever made. LOL.

opi-fire-escape-redezvouz opi-fire-escape-rendezvous-swatch

 OPI Five-and-Dime is a light metallic silver.

opi-five-and-dime-swatch opi-five-and-ten

OPI Meet My “Decorator” is an orange-red. This one had a fabulous formula.

opi-meet-my-decorator opi-meet-my-decorator-swatch

OPI I Believe in Manicures is a light blue and the formula was TERRIBLE. It was goopy but sheer at the same time. You can see in these atricious photos that I had nothing but problems trying to get this even. I do not recommend this one at all. I’d rather wear Fire Escape Rendezvous. LOLopi-i-believe-in-manicures-swatch opi-i-believe-in-manicures

OPI Rich and Brazilian is a dark purple with tiny multi-colored glitters.

opi-rich-and-brazilian-swatch opi-rich-and-brazilian

OPI Got the Mean Reds is a classic red. This one had a super smooth formula. However, OPI puts a classic red in *every* collection they do. So, not sure if you really need to get this one, either.opi-got-the-mean-reds opi-got-the-mean-reds-swatch

Despite my Criticism of the OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s collection, OPI is still one of my favorite mainstream brands. The formula is usually fabulous even if their colors have been leaving originality and newness to the side.

Christmas Sweater Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}{Press Sample}

It’s time to start breaking out those holiday stamping plates! Today I have a new one for you from It Girl Nail Art. Nicole has released a new series of plates that are smaller with full designs on them. Today’s design comes from this series and it is plate IG304.

I started off with three coats of OPI Funny Bunny. This is a white crelly which is why I needed three coats. (Plain swatch at the end of this post.) Then, I used two stamping polishes from It Girl Nail Art, both of which were sent to me as press samples.

Seaside Nail Art Ideas

{Purchased by Me}

Good morning!! It’s Friday which means it’s time for another edition of the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge! This week’s prompt is “seaside / holidays / beach” and by “holidays,” we mean vacations. :)
I started my mani with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Once dry, I used a makeup sponge to create a gradient with OPI The I’s Have It! Then, I used some water decals made by Pueen to add the anchors and steering wheels. Yes, I know they’re not called steering wheels. I can’t remember what they’re called on ships!!! What are the wheels called?!

Mint Chevron Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}

I’m late again on this week’s Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge! Egad! Life has been crazycrazycrazy. I did this nail art over a week ago but didn’t have 5 minutes to edit photos and put a post together.#LivinLaVidaLoca

The challenge this week is “mint green” and my assigned prompt is chevrons. I started with OPI I’m Gown for Anything from the Alice in Wonderland collection. Then, I used Revlon Minted to create the chevrons.

Wedding Nail Art Ideas

{Press Sample}{Affiliate Links}{Purchased by Me}

Today’s nail art is for the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge. This week’s prompt is “Wedding nail art.” I had some cute stickers to review from the Born Pretty Store so I thought I’d incorporate those into the look.

1 Sheet Lace Necklace 3D Nail Art Stickers Black Lace Full Nail Stickers Nail DecalsI always think of wedding nail art as quiet and subdued. You don’t want your nails taking over the show because 1. it’s not your show or 2. you ARE the show! That’s why I decided to go for a simply french mani using OPI Can I Bayou a Drink? and OPI Alpine Snow. Then, I put the stickers on top.

This is probably the first time I’ve had to give something from the Born Pretty Story a negative review. I just could not get these to work for me! Even though there are various sizes, none of them fit the shape and curve of my nail quite right.

I like the concept I came up with…but the execution leaves something to be desired. :(

Thanks again to BPS for sending me these to review! You can find these supplies and more in the nail art section of the Born Pretty Store. Use code FYL91 to receive 10% off all your supplies at BornPrettyStore.com

A Couple OPI Swatches from the New Orleans Collection

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have a couple swatches for you from the OPI New Orleans collection. I picked these up at Sally Beauty a couple weeks ago when they were having a nail polish sale. Yay! Sales!

This is OPI Can I Bayou a Drink. It’s a lovely light pink with a tiny hint of shimmer. opi-can-i-bayou-a-drink opi-can-i-bayou-a-drink-swatch

This is OPI Show Us Your Tips. It’s aptly named because you can see my nail through the polish even after three coats!! I hate saying anything negative about OPI because I really love the brand…but this one is a hard pass for me. It’s a gorgeous color, but look at how much patchiness is still happening after three coats. Makes me a sad panda. :(

Techie Nail Art

Great Nail Art Ideas…Purple Zig Zag Nail Art!

{Borrowed}{Purchased by Me}

For the second week in a row, I’m using polishes borrowed from smackerlacquer! The China Glaze polishes are both from the new Lite Brite collection and both are borrowed. The OPI is Love. Angel. Music. Baby. from the old Gwen Stefani collection.

The dark purple China Glaze is We Got the Beet and the light one is Let’s Jam.

This nail art is for this week’s Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge. We’re all doing violet nail art and my assigned technique is zig zag! Here’s what I came up with.

Sexy Burlesque Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}{Press Samples}{Affiliate Links}

I’m totally in the mood for some burlesque nail art so I came up with this look! I started with two coats of Zoya Azalea. Once dry, I taped off the tips and used OPI Who Are You Calling Bossy? to create the black french tips. I let the tips dry a bit (although I did not use topcoat this time). Then, I used Konad Black to stamp a design from It Girl Fashion Plate IG108.

burlesque-nail-art sexy-nail-art I really like how this burlesque nail art turned out. What do you think? Is this a look you would try out?

40 Great Nail Art Ideas…Film Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}{Affiliate Links}

This week for the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge, the prompt is ‘film’. I love Marilyn Monroe films so I decide do do film nail art in honor of her! I made a stamped decal using my Bliss Kiss Miracle Mat and Born Pretty Store Plate BP-L016.

Polishes used for this were:
Konad Black
Zoya Cala (originally sent to me as a press sample)
Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow (original formula)
OPI Coca-Cola Red
Morgan Taylor All White Now

I don’t know what it is about Marilyn Monroe that attracts me so much. I’ve read three or four different biographies on her and I’ve seen as many of her movies as I can get my hands on. I even have cd’s with the songs she sang.  There really is a beguiling allure about her. At least for me!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas…Things That Fly

{Purchased by Me}{Affiliate Link}{Press Sample}

Today’s post is for the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts Challenge. This week’s prompt is “Things that Fly”. I was racking my brain to think of what I should do. I really want to break out of my go-to method of stamping something. I can’t freehand at all and I didn’t even know what I’d draw if I could. I was at a total loss. Then, I realized that the TARDIS flies! Duh! I suddenly got very excited to do this prompt. I did a galaxy mani first (thusly breaking out of my stamping rut). To make the TARDIS, I made a decal using the Bliss Kiss Simply Neat Miracle Mat. (I did a full review on this awesome mat earlier this week.) The TARDIS can be found on My Online Shop Stamping plate Plate XII.

A lot of polishes went into the making of this mani.

Nude Stamping Nail Art

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

When I saw this crosshatch design on It Girl Fashion Plate IG 104, I knew I wanted to do a nude nail art look with it. This stamping plate was sent to me as a press sample. I started with two coats of OPI I’ll Take the Cake and I used Mundo de Unas Black as my stamping polish.

I really like the way this turned out and I’m excited to use this stamping design on a lot of different color combinations.
