Penguin Nail Art

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

Happy first day of winter! To celebrate, I have a penguin nail art look for you. I used Pretty Serious Disc of the Heavens which was originally sent to me as a press sample. The stamping polish is MoYou Stamping Polish in Blue. I can’t remember when or where I got this polish! My memory is failing me in my old age. The adorable penguins are from It Girl Plate IG 113.

Heart in the Middle

{Press Sample}{Purchased By Me}

This nail art starts with Zoya Lidia which is a deep purple. I used MoYou Special Polish in blue to stamp a design from It Girl Fashion Plate 103. This is the first time I used MoYou Stamping polish so I didn’t know how well it would work. I was extremely pleased with its performance. I just bought this one color to test but I will certainly be buying more. (Especially now that I’m seriously considering phasing Mundo de Unas out of my life.)

MoYou Frenchy Plate 02

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

In a moment of weakness, I picked up a couple more MoYou plates on Amazon. For this mani, I started with Literary Lacquer Raspberry Cordial and I used Mundo de Unas White to stamp the tips. I had some trouble getting a crisp image. My other hand was even more messed up than this one! I had the most success with a super squishy stamper so it could meld to my nail’s curve.

LL Raspberry Cordial is a lovely pink holo. It also has bigger, chunky glitters that really remind me of raspberry seeds! Very clever!

Quick rant: People are already starting to set off fireworks at night in my neighborhood. Are. You. Kidding. Me?! The 4th of July is still nearly two weeks away! It’s so rude. If you are one of these people…STOP. Ok – rant over!

Sea Creatures Nail Art for Challenge Your Nail Art!

It’s time for another round of “Challenge Your Nail Art“. Today’s prompt is “sea creatures”. I have been neglecting my Vivid Lacquer VL023 stamping plate which has mermaids on it, so I couldn’t NOT use it on this challenge! :D I started with two coats of OPI Blue Chips which is an amazing sea blue with holographic shimmers. I got it at TJ Maxx and it was a major score! Once dry, I used Color Club Harp On It to stamp some mermaids and then dotted some of it around. When the mermaids didn’t show up over the blue, I used Konad Special White and it showed up much better. I thought the art needed a little more flair so I grabbed MoYou London Fairytale Plate 06 to stamp some starfish, some bubbles, and some fish around. I like how it turned out!

Pink and Silver Flowers – MoYou Suki Collection

Hi! For today’s mani, I started with two coats of Rain City Lacquer Heart Warming which is a light reddish pink holo polish. This is the first Rain City polish I tried and I’m pretty impressed! After it was dry, I used Bundle Monster Silver Stamping Polish and MoYou Suki Collection Plate 07 to stamp the flower  designs on top.

Zoya Naturel Collection Stamping Art

For today’s nail art, I wanted to see if the Zoya Naturel Deux collection would be good for stamping! I originally received these polishes as a press sample for this post. I started with two coats of Zoya Aubrey which is a nice, warm plum color. I used MoYou Suki Collection – 07 plate which has a lovely flower pattern on it. I picked Zoya Emilia to stamp first, but it was too dark. You an kinda see it on my ring finger. So,  switched plans and used Zoya Spencer which is a light camel color. This stamped quite well!

Super Mario Bros. Nail Art

This mani is for the Challenge Your Nail Art challenge! Today’s prompt is video games! As someone who was born in the early 80’s, the first thing that comes to mind is Super Mario Bros, of course! Luckily for me, MoYou’s Rebel Collection Plate 02 has a Mario on it. That means I can bring you some Super Mario Bros. Nail Art! I started with two coats of Zoya Yummy which is my go-to sky blue. Then, I used Konad special red to stamp Mario on. I used Sally Hansen White On to paint the clouds. Zoya Tilda was used for the pipe. Finally, I used my Nailtini stencils as decals for the gold boxes.

Walking Through Dust

Happy Wednesday!!! I hope your week is going well. :) For today’s mani, I have OPI DS Lapis which is wickedly gorgeous. Then, I used my white Bundle Monster Stamping Polish and MoYou Artist Collection Plate 08 to stamp this frame design on my nails. Unfortunately, they’re a bit crooked. I was super distracted by Doctor Who and was not paying 100% attention. Oopsies! No spoilers, please! I’m only on Season 3 episode 3!!! :)

Here’s a plain swatch of OPI DS Lapis.  It naturally dries to a somewhat textured, matte finish. It’s gorgeous on its own, no top coat required. But, I will show you it glossy later, just make sure you’re wearing a hat because it’s going to blow your mind. (The hat is to keep all your head bits together when your mind is blow…)

Tri-Polish Tuesday – A Day at the Beach

Hooray! I finally made a tri-polish Tuesday mani that I really like. This month’s colors have been super hard for me. They are nude, coral, and turquoise. Today, my brain finally realized that combination could create a cool ocean mani. For my nude, I picked China Glaze Don’t Honk Your Thorn, for coral I picked Sally Hansen Peachy Breeze, and for the turquoise I picked essence The Incredible from the awesome superheroes collection.

I started with two coats of essence The Incredible. After it was dry, I used Sally Hansen Peachy Breeze and MoYou FairyTale Collection Plate 06 to stamp ocean creatures on my nails. Then, I dabbed China Glaze Don’t Honk Your Thorn on the tips to simulate the ocean floor. I like how it turned out!

Sally Hansen Pink Boa and Bundle Monster Stamping Polish

As you know, I take part in many nail art challenge groups. They help me reach outside of my comfort zone. I’ve created some of my favorite nail art during these challenges – and some of my least favorite. ;) Two have converged on the same day!! Today, I have Crumpet’s Nail Tarts Golden Oldies Thursday and Challenge Your Nail Art. So I decided to extra challenge myself and try to make a mani that applies to both! Luckily for me, this week’s GOT challenge is ‘free choice’. So that just means whatever I do for the other one, needs to use polish I haven’t used in over a year. The prompt for Challenge Your Nail Art is “bright colors”. I grabbed Sally Hansen Pink Boa. This is one of the first polishes I ever owned. I believe I bought it in late 2011. Then, I decided to use my new Bundle Monster Stamping Polish #17 which is a nice silver color. I stamped with MoYou Artist Collection Plate 08.

First, we need to appreciate Sally Hansen Pink Boa all in its pink glory.

Sally Hansen Color Foils Stamping

When I first tried stamping with the Sally Hansen Color Foils, I couldn’t get it to work. Then another blogger (I can’t remember who right now! If you tell me, I’ll update this to credit her) let me know that she used a hard Konad stamper and she was able to stamp with them. I really wanted it to work, so I decided to give it another try…and lo and behold, it worked!!! Hooray! These are gorgeous polishes to stamp with!!!

I started with two coats of Julep Cleopatra and did not top coat it. Luckily, it dries super fast on its own.

I grabbed my MoYou Artist Collection Plate 08. This is the first time I’ve used it because I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. :P But I saw the floral pattern in the bottom right and thought it would be perfect for this design.

I stamped with Sally Hansen Cobalt Chrome and I really like how it turned out.

Then, I wanted a little extra pizazz so I took my dotting tool and dotted Sally Hansen Rose Copper on as an accent.

Story Mani

For this mani, I was challenged to “tell a story” as my manicure. I hope the story I’m trying to tell with this one comes across. I thought about explaining, but shouldn’t I let the viewer interpret the story that makes sense to them? :D I used images from Vivid Lacquer plate VL 20 and MoYou Rebel Collection plate 02.

Spring Flowers Nail Art

The prompt for today’s Adventures in Stamping Challenge is “Spring Nails”. I did flowers…does that count? I don’t think this purple screams spring but my husband picked it out so I wanted to use it!! This is Sally Hansen Grape Going! and is from the wonderful Insta-Dri line. I used MoYou Artists Collection Plate 04 and Konad Special White to stamp.

MoYou Suki Collection Plate 07

Today’s mani is part of the Adventures in Stamping Sunday Challenge. The challenge this week was ‘pastels’. I selected Essence That’s What I Mint as my stamping polish and it actually stamps pretty well! For my base color, I picked Color Club Endless Summer which is a lovely pastel pink. I selected a MoYou Stamping Plate from the Suki Collection. This is plate 07. I am super duper impressed with the MoYou plates. The images are so crisp and clean! Also, each plate has a ton of different full nail designs you can use. In my mani below, you won’t get a specific Asian feel, but when you look at the plate as a whole, that’s what you see. This is why the MoYou stamping plates are so cool! They have so much versatility!!!

Just look at all the different designs from MoYou Suki Collection Plate 07!!!!!!!!!!

I picked four different designs from the plate for variety on each nail. I like how subtle the stamping is with the pastels.

Balloon Blowing in the Wind

For this mani, I started with two coats of Literary Lacquers Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster which is a gorgeous tealy blue holo. Then, I stamped the girl and the balloon using MoYou Rebel Collection – 02 Plate. Finally, I stamped the artsy design using Pueen Plate 59. All the white stamping was done using Konad Special White.

First, let’s start with a Literary Lacquers Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster swatch.
