Today’s post is an antique nail art look starting with two coats of Marc Jacobs Petra. I picked this design from It Girl Nail Art Plate IG106 and used Bundle Monster Black to stamp.

Marc Jacobs Nail Polish Review

My husband knows me oh-so-well and got me designer polishes for Christmas! Today, I’m going to show you the two Marc Jacobs polishes he got me. (You can read my review of the Dior polishes here.)

Marc Jacobs Oui! is a metallic purple. I needed three coats to get full opacity. After having tried the Dior polishes first, the Marc Jacobs ones left me a little disappointed. The brush was actually a little awkward (it’s the standard round, thin brush you’ll see in drugstore polishes) and the formula wasn’t any better than polishes that are much cheaper. Now I just have to figure out how to tactfully tell my husband that I love that he gets me polish…but just not to get me Marc Jacobs again. :P The color of Oui! is pretty, but nothing I’d pay more than $10 for. (They sell for $18 at Sephora.)

Marc Jacobs Petra had a much better application than Oui. I only needed two coats and it was very smooth. However, after trying Oui first, I know that the MJ polishes are going to be hit and miss.

Filigree Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}{Press Sample}

Today’s nail art starts with three coats of Marc Jacobs Oui! Then, I used It Girl Fashion Plates IG106 which was given to me as a press sample. IG106 has mostly filigree designs and is well worth checking out. There are10 lovely, intricate designs on this plate. For today’s filigree nail art, I used Mundo de Unas Figi as my stamping polish.
