Ipsy August 2017

What’s in my August 2017 Ipsy Bag?? I don’t know! Let’s find out together!!

Peach and Black Stamping

{Purchased by Me}

I don’t really like today’s mani, but I’m going to show it to you anyway. Some people might like it and who am I to deprive you of viewing it? ;)Cosmeceuticals

The base for this mani is a Cosmeceuticals polish I got in the April Ipsy bag. I don’t know the name of it because I threw the box away! :O I didn’t realize the name wasn’t on the bottle. Note to makers: Always put your name on the bottle!

cosmeceutical-nail-polish cosmetceutical

I was in Sally Beauty and saw this top coat from Seche that I’d never seen before: Seche Vive. It’s kinda like their UV-free gel topcoat. It works similarly to their regular topcoat. I didn’t notice much of a difference.seche-vive

This stamping design is from It Girl Plate IG117 and I used It Girl Obsidian as the stamping polish.

Ipsy August 2016

{Referral Link}

Today I have the August 2016 Ipsy bag to show you! This might be one of the cutest bags we’ve ever received from Ipsy! The 5 items I received are also pretty great this month, too.

This month, I received:
It Haircare 12 in 1 leave in conditioner
Nomad Eyeshadow in Spice Market
Beaute Basics 3 in 1 bronzer
Tarte Lash Paint
Ciate Spinning Teacup

ipsy-august-2016 august-ipsy-2016 ipsy-august-2016-reveal

Ciate Spinning Teacup is a nice creamy lilac. This is two coats.ciate-spinning-teacup

This month, I will use all these items! (Just like last month, actually!) I think this means that Ipsy has been doing a really great job lately!

Ipsy July 2016

{Purchased by Me}

I got my July 2016 Ipsy bag in the mail last week and I finally got around to trying out all the products!

The five products I received are:

theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) shadow in Matt Moskowitz which is a creamy plum color

Befine Food Skin Care face lotion

ML Cosmetics Felt Tip Eyeliner in Emerald Isle

Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

Vasanti Cosmetics Eyeshadow Brush

This is a pretty great bag for me. I literally used everything in it. Sometimes I put stuff away to try later or I give it to a friend. Everything in this month’s bag is mine mine mine!

Here are swatches of the eyeshadow and eyeliner.

Here’s a picture of me wearing or having used everything in this month’s Ipsy bag. I guess I should have taken out my headphones for the picture. LOL. I had to finish my book for book club! Sometimes audiobooks are the only way I can do that! :P

Ipsy June 2016

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Link}

It’s that time of the month! Ipsy time! This month’s theme is “Rebel” and it has a super cute bag to go with it.

ipsy-june-2016 ipsy-june-2016-review

It’s quite a good little haul this month. It’s months like this that keep me subscribed to Ipsy even though I could use the $10/month elsewhere.

First up, I got Delectable lip balm.delectable-lip-balm

This has a vaseline-like consistency and doesn’t seem to have a smell.

Urban Decay Fireball eyeshadow. Urban Decay is absolutely my favorite company for eye shadows. I own all the Naked palettes and I love each and every one of them. I probably only venture away from UD about once a month so it’s pretty awesome to get a little UD shadow in this month’s bag.urban-decay-fireball

This will be a nice mid-tone shade for me. It’s a little too pink to be a highlighter for my pale face, but I could work up some pretty cool eye looks using this as a base.

Brushes! Yay! You know how I love brushes. They’re the gift that keeps on giving. For each brush I acquire, that’s one more day where I don’t have to wash brushes. Huzzah!royal-and-langnickel-crease-brush

Seraphine Botanicals Happy Hibiscus Blush. This is the one item I could have done without. I’m swimming in blushes and I barely use blush. I use it each day, it’s just that I use such a small amount, I’ve never used up a blush in my entire life.

It’s a lovely bronzey-rose color. If any of my IRL friends are reading this and want this blush, just let me know and it’s yours.

Sephora Formula X nail polish in WingWoman. Hooray! Polish! I feel like I rarely get polish from Ipsy so whenever I see “ORDM” on my package, I get super excited. :D

Sephora’s store line of polishes is actually quite fantastic. The formulas are smooth and go on easily. It was a little hard to apply this one because it’s a mini bottle and that means a puny little brush. Luckily, the polish was smooth enough to compensate for a wussy brush.

And that’s all, folks!

Ipsy May 2016 Review

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Link}

Today I have the May 2016 Ipsy bag to show you. This is probably one of the cuter bags we’ve received. Plus, it’s just in time for my trip to visit my family! My cell phone charger and backup battery will have a lovely little pouch to live in. :)

may-2016-ipsy-bag ipsy-may-2016-review may-ipsy-bag

Clark’s Botanicals Smoothing Marine Cream. I haven’t tried this yet because I’m reviewing three (!) other skincare lines at the moment. I don’t want my face to explode so this one will just have to wait until I’ve used up the other stuff. :)

A fluffy brush! Yay for brushes! I love getting brushes in my Ipsy bags. Other than nail polish, it’s probably my favorite thing to get. Why? Because the more brushes I have, the less frequently I have to wash them! #shoutouttolazypeople #aintnobodygottimeforthatinspur-eyeshadow-brush

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow Trio. I was more excited for this trio before I tried it. The lower left shade has too much red in it. I was expecting it to be pinker but once I applied it, it leaned more red/orange.pacifica-coconut-eye-shadow-trio

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara. Maybe actually G-rated in real life? It definitely made my lashes long and black, but it didn’t give me the va-va-va-voom lashes that I like. In my opinion, this is a good mascara for an everyday, casual look. I’ll still be on the lookout for something actually x-rated.smashbox-x-rated-mascara

Soo AE Facemasks. These are up for grabs for any of my IRL friends that want them. I just don’t use facemasks. Ever. I don’t like having to wash my face, put something on it, wait 30 minutes, then wash it AGAIN. #shoutouttolazypeople #aintnobodygottimeforthatsoo-ae-facial-masks

Here is a selfie of me after I used the fluffy brush, shadow trio, and mascara.

Ipsy March 2016

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Links}

Today I’m going to show you the Ipsy March 2016 bag! First of all, this bag is freakin’ adorable and would make a super cute mani. I must file this away in my mental archives to create this mani!

ipsy-march-2016 march-2016-ipsy

Margaret Dabb nail file. This is going in my give-away pile. I only use glass nail files so I don’t have any use for this one.

Nourish Organic Rosehip and Rosewater oil. This is an interesting product. It’s oil and it says ‘body oil mist’ on the label, but it’s in a lotion tube. It seems kinda strange to put a spray in a lotion bottle.

Vera Mona Eyeshadow in Clover. This looks like a beautiful color and I can’t wait to try it!

Pixi by Petra blush in Rose Gold. I’m excited to try this because I’m always looking for a good highlighter shade!

NYX Liquid Suede in Kitten Heels. This is a beautiful matte red. The staying power is also pretty great. It didn’t last through a meal but it did last through coffee and tea breaks!nyx-liquid-suede

 Here I am sporting the NYX Suede lip color.nyc-matte-lipcolor red-matte-lipstickAnother great Ipsy bag! Have you signed up yet?

Ipsy February 2016

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Links}

Today I have the Ipsy February 2016 bag to review for you! This isn’t my favorite bag I’ve received from them. The last few bags have really been great, but I feel like this one is a little ‘meh’. However, for a mere $10 per month, I’m going to stay subscribed. They usually make me pretty happy! At least I got polish this month so that makes it worth it alone. :)

This month, I received Trust Fund Beauty Polish, Promise Organic Moisturizing Lotion, treStiQue blush stick, Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion, and Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil. I’m obviously most excited about the nail polish. Next, I’m very curious about this primer oil. Seems like a strange, but intriguing idea!

The blush stick is on Bora Bora Coral. It’s a pretty color, but I’m swimming in blushes and I don’t want anymore. :(

I looooove this color. This is Trust Fund Beauty I’m Kind of a Big Deal. This is two coats. I love this pink! Eek!

In completely unrelated news… I’ve recruited a few volunteers to help me plan the most epic of all polish get togethers!

We are in the early planning stages and would love your feedback. Please take a moment to fill out our quick survey, here!

January 2016 Ipsy

{Referral Link}

Today I have the January 2016 Ipsy bag to show you!  The bag itself is super adorable this month and I got some great new products to try out.

From left to right, I got pur-lisse Eye Serum, The Balm Mr. Write (Now) in Scott, Beau Gashis ffluffy eyeshadow brush, Lasting Smiles lip balm in peppermint cream, and Hiarki Cream Pigment in Mink.

Here’s a close-up of the Hikari cream. It looks like a gorgeous color.

The Balm Mr. Write (Now) in Scott is a wine colored eyeliner. the-balm-mr-write-now-eyeliner

I was going to take some selfies with these products but to be completely honest….I kept forgetting! So here you go. My Ipsy bag sans selfies. I hope you enjoyed it anyway!

December 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Links}

Today I’m going to show you the December 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag. This month was particularly excellent!  If you want to sign up, use my referral link by clicking here. I got five items plus a super cool bonus item.

This month, I received Klorane eye makeup remover, Thank Me Later eyeshadow primer, Peter Samas Hand Cream, Tarte Finishing Powder, Pacifica Power of Love in Nudie Red.

The extra cool item this month is an eyeshadow palette from Michelle Phan’s company, em. There was a note included saying how I was one of the first people to sign up for Ipsy (I joined the second month they were in business) and they were giving this palette to their long-term subscribers. I don’t know where the cut-off was, but I’m so excited to try this!

Obviously I wanted to try out the em palette right away! Here’s a look I put together using the shadow palette and the Pacifica lipstick from this month’s Ipsy bag. I also used the Elizabeth Mott eye primer.

The shadows had a really nice color payoff. It’s definitely good quality. I also like the colors themselves. You  can do some pretty neutral looks with it or some lovely dark, smokey looks. I’m pleased to have this palette and I know I’ll be reaching for it a lot!

If you want monthly presents from your past self to your future self, Ipsy is a great option. I’m rarely disappointed and I’ve found some pretty great brands that I might not have tried otherwise. I always think it’s well worth the $10/month!

Ipsy November 2015

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Link}

Today I’m going to show you what I got in my Ipsy November 2015 bag! I’ve been subscribing to Ipsy for years and I still love getting it every month! It is well worth the $10/month subscription fee. I have a BUNCH of little cosmetic bags now that I don’t know what to do with…but LOTS of makeup that I’ve been able to try and learn whether I like it or not. Some products are now even in my regular routing that I buy over and over again! So let’s take a look at the November bag.

The first thing I pulled out was this eyeliner brush from INSPR. A girl  can’t have too many brushes, right?

Next, I have the Acance + Flawless Effects Skincare mattifying emulsion primer. I’m a little disappointed by this one because I can’t do mattifying products. They dry my face out too much so I’ll be looking for a friend with oily skin to give this to.

Smashbox Full Exposure mascara. Smashbox products are hit and miss with me, but I’m excited to be able to try this mascara. I love trying new mascaras – always in search of my next favorite! (Right now I’m loving Benefit’s Roller Lash. That stuff is awesome.)

Model Co Highlighting Trio. I’m most excited for this product. I’ve slowly been getting into more highlighters and I love how they are looking. These are cream based so I’m not sure if I’m supposed to set them with a powder or not. Wouldn’t that cover them up? But creme products and the humidity in the NW typically don’t get along…so we shall see about this one. Regardless, I’m excited to try it.

treStique Lip Crayon in Nude Nantucket. I typically like a rosier lip but I will definitely try this one on and see what I think!

What do you think of t his month’s Ipsy bag?

Ipsy October 2015

{Purchased by Me}{Referral Link}

I got my October 2015 Ipsy bag in the mail yesterday! This is one of my favorite bags I’ve received. Ever. I’m super excited about each and every one of the products I got! The bag itself is super fun this month. The theme for October is “Alter Ego” and the bag perfectly emulates that. On one side, it’s glossy black. And on the other, it’s matte gold! How fun is that?

Let’s see what goodies I got this month!

Ayers hand cream – this will be perfect to throw in my purse! I always need hand lotions this size for on-the-go moisture.

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting liquid lipstick in Committed. This looks gorgeous! And the color payoff is amazing! (See below!)

Laura Geller baked blush in Tropic Hues. I’m super excited about this because I’ve heard nothing but good things about LG baked blushes. The color is gorgeous and I can’t wait to try it out.

Lavanila Pure Vanilla Perfume. I love vanilla based perfumes. Mostly because they make me smell like cake.

Emite Make Up tweezers. I use tweezers for everything that normal people use their nails for. :P That way, I don’t break a nail!!

Looks at these gorgeous swatches!!ipsy-oct-2015-review

Ipsy September 2015 Glam Bag

{Referral Link}

Here’s my Ipsy Glam Bag for September! I’ve had this for about a week now but couldn’t post earlier since I had a terrible head cold. I was out of commission for a whole week! (I’m way better now!) I always know when I’m sick if I don’t feel like doing my hair, nails, and makeup!

I got another super great bag this month from Ipsy. If you want to sign up, please use my referral link by clicking here.

J Cat Beauty Waterproof Slide on Pencil in Bronze

City Color Be Bold Mascara

Avene Soothing Moisture Mask

Trust Fund Beauty Elegantly Wasted

NYX Ipsy Palette

Here is a look I did using the NYX palette. I tried to use the J Cat Beauty eyeliner as well but the color payoff was terrible so unfortunately, that guy is going in the trash. But these eyeshadows are pretty nice!

(If my life was a horror movie, that slash of light in the photo would mean that there was a ghost in the room with me!!)

Ipsy July 2015

{Purchased By Me}

I got my Ipsy bag in the mail today!! If you’re signing up, you can use my referral code by clicking here. This month is another great month, even though I don’t really care for the bag itself. It’s definitely not my style. But the stuff IN the bag is pretty awesome.

Be a Bombshell lip balm in French Kiss. This has the very slightest hit of pink. I tried to swatch it on my hand for you, but you could hardly see it. So this is going in my chapstick collection!

Coolway Sea Salt Spray – I used to throw this kind of thing away, but ever since my hairdresser actually taught me how to use it, I use sea salt spray all the time! I just spray it at the roots which helps the hair keep some volume.

Vasanti Brighten Up Enzymatic Face Rejuvinator. I’m trying to be a lot better about exfoliating so this couldn’t have come at a better time!

Nude Stix eyeshadow in Gilt. This looks gorgeous and this kind of shade typically looks really great with my hazel eyes.

Pencil Sharpener – I was thisclose to buying a new one of the store so thanks to Ipsy for including one in my bag this month!

Aurora Gel Effect nail polish in 4 Alarm Fire. Obviously this is my favorite part of the bag! The color is gorgeous and the formula was easy to work with.

Are you an Ipsy subscriber? What did you get in your bag this month?

Ipsy June 2015

I got my June 2015 Ipsy bag in the mail the other day! This isn’t my favorite one I’ve ever received, but there are three products that I’m really happy about. The bag itself this month is nothing exciting. Last month’s bag was so super cute, anything would pale in comparison.

Here’s my Ipsy haul for this month…

BioRepublic purifying face masks. I don’t really use face masks. Like, ever. I don’t know why – I enjoy them when I do. But it just seems like a bit of a hassle.

Tre Stique pencil eyeshadow. I’m not accustomed to pencil eyeshadows. I’m a powder and brush girl, but I thought it would be good for me to try something new. Turns out, I really liked what I was able to do with it. Keep reading to see the final look!

J Cat Beauty Hydrating Lip Stain. I love a good lip product so obviously I was pretty excited by this! The color is fabulous and I’ve worn it every day since I got it! It’s not really very stain-y though. It does come off on my cups and doesn’t last all day. However, the color payoff is magnificent and a tiny bit goes a long way.

NYC Black Noir Liquid Eyeliner. It’s been a long time since I’ve used an actual liquid liner. I’ve converted to gel and pencils. However, this might have brought me back into the liquid club!

Smashbox Photo Finish primer. I have had about a million of these samples. It’s fine, I just don’t notice a difference when I use this and when I don’t.

Here’s the look I did using the eyeshadow pencil, NYC eyeliner, and J Cat Beauty lip stain.

May 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag

[Purchased by Me}{Referral Links}

Good morning! I’m finally getting around to show you what I got in this month’s Ipsy bag! I’m not too thrilled with the contents this month, but I was super spoiled last month. I do think it’s worth the $10 though and I’ll remain a happy Ipsy subscriber. If you’re interest in signing up, please use my referral link by clicking here.

My favorite part of this month’s haul is the bag itself. It’s too cute!

I got some Urban Decay Lip Liner sample, UD lip gloss sample, Klorane eye patches, Bare Face Sunscreen, and Chella Eyebrow Pencil in Taupe.

I think the only thing I’ll actually use this month is the UD samples, and even then, I dislike this style of lipgloss sample. I want to be able to put it in my pocket!

While I am underwhelmed this month, I still love Ipsy and would recommend them if you’re in the market for a fun monthly subscription.

Julie Damsel Swatch

{Purchased By Me}

I got Jule Damsel in my April 2015 Ipsy bag. I was so happy to finally get polish!! I rarely get polish from Ipsy so when I saw the “Ordm” code on the package, I just knew there was a polish waiting for me inside! Not only that, but it’s a gorgeous creamy pink! Woo hoo!

I believe this is the first time I’ve tried this brand and I must say I’m impressed. It went on very nicely and there were no formula issues at all.

Ipsy Glam Bag April 2015

{Purchased by Me}

This is probably my favorite Ipsy Glam Bag of all time. If you’re interested in signing up, please use my referral link by clicking here. This month, I am thrilled with all the products in my bag!!! Funnily enough, I don’t like the bag itself…but whatever; I don’t care!

This month, I got nail polish – FINALLY!!! This is only the second time I’ve received polish -ever! The polish is Julie Damsel. I also got Mica Beauty Cosmetics Eye Primer.

The colored cosmetics this month are The Blam Nude Dude in Fit. This is a mini eyeshadow.  Next, Mullein and Sparrow tinted lip balm. It looks dark in the tin, but it doesn’t go on dark at all. And it smells rather like chocolate! Finally, Gallany lipstick in Petal. I already adore this lipstick. I’ve worn it three days in a row – every day since I got my bag! It’s so creamy and so flattering. I will absolutely be buying a full size of this when the small one runs low!

What did you get in your bag this month? Were you as happy as me?

Ipsy Glam Bag March 2015

{Purchased By Me}

Another excellent bag from Ipsy! If you’re interested in signing up, please use me referral code by clicking here.

First of all, this month’s bag is absolutely adorable!! I love the spring-like cheerfulness of it.

I’m always looking for something that will help my damaged hair! I like the Big Sexy Hair brand, so I have high hopes for this little guy.

NYX, while inexpensive, has proven to be a reliable brand. This is their lip butter in Little Susie. I love lip butters because they provide moisture and an effortless swatch of color.

Marsk eyeshadow in Lucky Penny. I haven’t heard of this brand before, but golden browns tend to look good on my so I am excited to use this one!

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighting Crayon. I’m on an eternal quest to make my eyebrows look better so I’ll be using this to highlight my brown bone.

Dr Brandt Anti-Aging mattifying lotion. I already have dry skin, so this lotion is of no use to me. Typically, things that matte skin dry mine out like the Sahara Desert. I’ll probably give this one to a friend.

Overall, I’m pleased once again with my Ipsy bag. Do you subscribe? What did you get this month?

Ipsy Glam Bag February 2015

{Purchased By Me}

This month’s Ipsy bag is another good one! The bag is super cute and I’m happy with all the products I get to try this month.

From left to right: Blush Cheek Powder in Cosmopolitan, Rob Cheppy for Beauty Tini in Pearl Fizz, Hey Honey Take It Off Peel Off Mask, Luxie large angled brush, and Cargo Cosmetics lip gloss in Anguilla.

This is a swatch of Tini Beauty Pearl Fizz. You can see it’s quite light and will be a perfect highlighting shade. I’m actually running quite low on my go-to Urban Decay highlighting shades (Sin and Virgin) so this will suffice nicely until I can get some more!

Blush in Cosmopolitan looks like it will be a flattering shade on me. It’s a light, cheerful pink.

Cargo Cosmetics lip gloss in Anguilla is a tad light for me. It’s very baby pink. It reminds me of my Barbie dolls. I might layer this over a darker color because I think this shade will wash me out quite a bit.

All in all, I’m quite happy with Ipsy Glam bag February 2015 and I think it was a $10 well spent!

Ipsy Glam Bag November 2014

{Purchased By Me}

I received 5 products this month, three of which I believe are full size. All of which I’m excited to try. The bag is a silver glitter bag. It looks like you’re going to get silver glitter all over with this bag but there is actually a plastic coating on it so it’s safe! :) It’s also smooth like plastic even though it doesn’t really look like it.
