The second polish is Fairytale Finish Cotton Candy Blizzard which is a light purple crelly with really fun glitters in it. I needed three coats for this one since it is a crelly.

Once again, Amanda has made some pretty gorgeous polishes!

Fairytale Finish April 2016

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the Fairytale Finish April 2016 subscription box to share with you! This month, we got three bottles of polish instead of the normal two. Woohoo!

Fairytale Finish Meet me at the Pier is a lovely light gray. I didn’t notice the patchiness until I was editing photos. The patches weren’t noticeable in real life and I wore this polish for a whole day! I did two coats but obviously this one needed three if you’re doing a close up!

Fairytale Finish California Poppies is a cheerful orange with golden shimmer.

Fairytale Finish Fairytale Castle is a beautiful flakie topper. I have it swatched here over black.

fairytale-finish-fairytale-castle fairy-tale-finish-fairytale-castle

I know this post is super late since these are the April polishes… I’ve been super busy starting my own dog training business! It’s amazing how much time it takes to get a business started completely from scratch – but I’ve been learning so much!!

Fairytale Finish May 2016

{Purchased by Me}

The Fairytale Finish Never-ending Fairytales subscription box is one of the subscriptions that I just can’t get rid of. Each month, Amanda’s polishes get better and better. I know Amanda in person and it’s been really cool seeing her company grow. She’s a talented polish maker and I’m excited every month to see what new pretties await me in my mailbox!

This month’s theme is nautical. We received two full-sized polishes and some nautical-themed decals (anchors and ship steering wheels….whatever those are called).

This is Fairytale Finish Nautical Nonsense. It’s a crelly polish with white and blue glitters in it. The base is an off-white color, leaning toward yellow. I didn’t think I was going to like it much but I loved it on. My husband even commented on it and he’s so used to polish that he’s really stopped commenting on anything that happens over here at my polish desk!

Fairytale Finish Batten Down the Hatches is a deep navy creme polish. I needed the standard two coats for this one.

Then, I used Fairytale Finish Fairytale Castle which is a flakie glitter topper. Finally, I used Mundo de Unas White to stamp two designs from Pueen Plate 47.

Mani Swap with My Lacquer Cabinet

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

Today’s post is a swap with My Lacquer Cabinet! I scrolled through her posts and found this one as my inspiration! She mostly shows off indies on her blog, so I tried to stay true to that theme.

For reference, here is the mani I was inspired by: Driving-Miss-Paisley-and-Rhinestone-Cowgirl-11Just make sure you go check out her full post because there are a lot of beautiful swatches in there!

For my mani, I started with two coats of Trust Fund Beauty Bye Felicia which was sent to me as a press sample. Then, I used scotch tape and Fairytale Finish Fairytale Castle to create this look.

You can’t see the Fairytale Castle very well. :( It just looks like extra shine on the polish. But, I’m going to try it over black later because I bet then it will be amazing. I should have chosen a different glitter polish for this mani, though.

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out My Lacquer Cabinet! She has some nail art inspired by one of my creations today!

Purple Stamping

{Purchased by Me}{Press Sample}

Today’s mani starts with three coats of Fairytale Finish Tale as Old as Time. I used Mundo de Unas Velvet and It Girl Fashion Plate IG109 to create the design.

You don’t need more description, right? You have eyeballs, right? That’s what you like about my site – that I’m not verbose…Right?

Fairytale Finish March 2016 Neverending Fairytales

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the March 2016 Neverending Fairytales subscription box from Fairytale Finish to show you! This month’s theme is Beauty and the Beast.

The first polish is Fairytale Finish Enchanted Rose. This is a light pink crelly with shard glitters. It’s the perfect depiction of a rose – super innocent, but then there are those damn thorns you have to watch out for!

fairytale-finish-enchanted-rose-swatch fairytale-finish-enchanted-rose

Fairytale Finish Tale as Old as Time is an off white crelly with a smattering of different glitters. I used three coats to reach full opacity for this one.

fairytale-finish-tale-as-old-as-time-swatch fairytale-finish-tale-as-old-as-time Ifairytale-finish-tale-as-old-as-time-macro

I really love both of these polishes. Amanda’s creations are getting better and better! I highly recommend trying her polish at least once!

Fairytale Finish Mystery Swatches

The amazing Chelsea of smackerlacquer bought a couple of mystery bags from Fairytale Finish. Today we’re each going to swatch three of the mystery colors so be sure to stop by her site today as well!

This is Fairytale Finish Mystery White Crelly #1. When Chelsea showed me the mystery polishes, I immediately called ‘dibs’ on this one! This is a white crelly with blue and green glitters. This white is pretty opaque – she actually could have used less white pigment in it! :)

fairytale-finish-mystery-white-crelly-1 fairytale-finish mystery-white-crelly fairytale-finish-mystery-white-crelly-macro

Fairytale Finish Mystery Holo #20 is a black holo. It does not have a strong holo presence, but it’s definitely there in the light.

fairy-tale-finish-mystery-holo-macrofairytale-finish-mystery-holo-20 fairy-tale-finish-mystery-holo fairy-tale-finish-mystery-holo-macro

Fairytale Finish Mystery Holo #21 is a beautiful pink. However, there is not really any holo in here. Very up close you can kind of see bits of shimmer, but it’s really not holo. If this was marketed as a creme, it would be just perfect!

Mani Swap-a-roo

Today’s post is my first-ever mani swap with another blogger! Chelsea from smackerlacquer invited me to do one and I thought, “Why the hell not?” Now, I know other people have asked me casually to do one before. But Chelsea actually gave me a due date. LOL. So here it is!

I picked Chelsea’s 49ers Nail Art. She did a lovely skittlette mani with 49ers colors and wrote a great post about how rude fans of other teams have been to her. So first of all, I owe Chelsea and apology. I was probably one of those people who guffawed when she bravely admitted to being a 49ers fan smack dab in the middle of Seahawks Country. Obviously, anyone is allowed to like whatever team they want! (Except the Patriots. Barf. Just Kidding…Kind of.)

So in honor of her selected sports team, I chose this beautiful mani for the mani swap…under one condition…I got to use Seahawks colors. :P While I respect that she’s a 49ers fan, I’ve gotta have Seahawks nails!!

I started with a base color of Fairytale Finish White Mystery Crelly #1. (I’ll have a plain swatch of this for you next week. So stay tuned!!)

Then, I used Pipe Dream Polish All In and High Roller (both from the Night in Vegas collection which is no longer available.)

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to check out Chelsea’s blog to see which of my nail art creations she used!

Fairytale Finish February 2016 – The Jelly Sandwich!

{Purchased by Me}

This month’s Fairytale Finish subscription box brings us the jelly sandwich. This is one of my favorite nail techniques and I haven’t done it in forever! I’m glad Amanda sent these to remind me of an oldie but a goodie technique. A jelly sandwich is where you take a sheer polish and a (usually) a glitter polish and do one coat of each (starting with the sheer) until you reach your desired opacity. This month, the two polishes are Rock Candy (a deep purple jelly) and For the Love of Nerds (a mish mash of purple glitters.)

I ended up doing four layers in all – jelly, glitter, jelly, glitter.

The appeal of the jelly sandwich is that it has a ton of depth. You can see through the purple sheer polish down to the first layer of glitter. It gives it an almost 3D effect. This technique is also referred to as a pond mani. However, I find that people usually use ‘pond’ when it’s stamping instead of glitter. (That kind of mani takes forever to do since you have to wait for each layer to fully dry in order to stamp multiple times. If you ever see a pond mani, take a moment to appreciate how long it took!)

The Fairytale Finish February 2016 is a great duo by the lovely Amanda!

In completely unrelated news… I’ve recruited a few volunteers to help me plan the most epic of all polish get togethers!

We are in the early planning stages and would love your feedback. Please take a moment to fill out our quick survey, here!

Fairytale Finish January 2016

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the January 2016 Fairytale Finish subscription box to show you! This month’s theme is “The Little Mermaid”. Amanda (the creator) let us vote on the theme. It just kinda worked out that “The Little Mermaid” is her favoritist movie ever! Both of these are crellies with varying sizes of glitter. I needed three coats of each to reach full opacity.

Fairy Tale Finish Treasures Untold is a gray crelly with silver glitters.

Fairytale Finish Wish I Could Be is a rich teal color with multi-colored glitters.

Teal and White Skittle Nails

{Purchased by Me}

I have some teal and white skittle nails to show you today! I only used two polishes for this skittles look – FairyTale Finish To the Beat of the Hum and Morgan Taylor All White Now. I also used some chevron nail stencils to create the look.

FairyTale Finish December 2015

{Purchased by Me}

I have the December 2015 Fairytale Finish subscription box polishes to show you! This month’s theme is “Things with Wings”. (Next month’s theme is “The Little Mermaid” so if you haven’t signed up, there is still time! fairytalefinishpolish.com)

First up is Fairytale Finish Dragon’s Spell. This is a purple jelly with multi-colored glitters. I think Amanda did a good job capturing the essence of what a fairy tale dragon would look like! I can’t help but think of dragon scales when I look at the glitters in this polish.

FairyTale Finish To the Beat of the Hum is a light teal crelly with multi-colored glitters. I did two coats with this one, but the second coat was thicker than I normally would use. That way, I got full opaqueness.

Pink Paisley Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}

This mani starts with two coats of Fairytale Finish Crystal Ball which is from the November Neverending Fairytales subscription box. I used Mundo de Unas Mexican Pink to stampĀ  this paisley nail artĀ  design from Bundle Monster plate BM-XL209. This plate is a collaboration between Bundle Monster and an amazing blogger from Lucy’s Stash.

Fairytale Finish November 2015

{Purchased by Me}

Today I’m going to show you swatches of the duo I got in the Fairytale Finish November 2015 subscription bag. This month, the theme was ‘magical’. As soon as I opened the bag, I knew I was going to love both polishes!!

This is Fairytale Finish Mystical Realm. It is a light blue polish with subtle pink shimmers. Two coats of this beauty and I was at full opacity.

Fairytale Finish Crystal Ball is a beautiful microshimmer royal blue. Two coats and I had full opacity!

I think these two blues are gorgeous! And good things happened both days I wore them…so perhaps they are also good luck!

Fairytale Finish October 2015

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the October 2015 Fairytale Finish subscription box to show you! First up is Leaf Jumper which is a hot pink cream with multi colored glitters.

Next, this is Autumn Twilight which is my favorite of the two. This is a deep purple (almost black) jelly with purple and gold glitters.

What do you think of this month’s Fairytale Finish duo?

Fairytale Finish September 2015 Subscription Box

{Purchased By Me}

This month’s Fairytale Finish Neverending Fairytales subscription box brings us two gorgeous polishes and a delicious-smelling cuticle balm. There was also a sheet of coupon codes for a bunch of other indie polishes! This month is owner Amanda’s birthday, thus the extra celebration!

Fairytale Finish After Party Dress is a black jelly with multi colored microglitter.

Fairytale Finish 27 Cupcakes is an off-white crelly with multicolored and multisized glitter. The one problem with this polish is that it reminds me of funfetti cake and I can’t stop craving it since I’ve been wearing it!

Fairytale Finish Neverending Fairytales August 2015

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the Fairytale Finish Neverending Fairytales August 2015 to show you! This is a monthly subscription box where Amanda sends two polishes plus extra goodies! Our extras this month were some cute decals and a mani bomb! The polishes, especially the first one, is totally to die for.

Fairytale Finish Triple Berry Tart is a neon pink with colorful glitters. I literally said “Holy shit” out loud while I was swatching this. It is so freaking beautiful!

Fairytale Finish Choc Full O’ Holo is a brown holo that makes me want some chocolate sobadrightnow.

So am I crazy or are these just amazing?? Probably my favorite month so far since I started this subscription!!

Seahawks Nail Art: 12 isn’t a Number, It’s a Way of Life

{Press Sample}

A friend of mine was talking about how she is going to Seahawks training camp earlier this month and I got super jealous. Since I can’t go see the Hawks in real life, I thought I would do a manicure to show my solidarity.

This mani uses both polishes from the Fairtale Finish Seahawks Duo, 12 isn’t a Number, It’s a Way of Life. The green is called Make them See Green and the blue is Beastquake.

Fairytale Finish and Mango Bunny Polish Collab!

{Purchased By Me}

This month, Mango Bunny Polish and Fairytale Finish got together and collaborated on a duo! I ordered these and I’m so glad I did! They are gorgeous and super fun! The theme is underwater and just wait until you see these beauties!

First up is Fairytale Finish Love Your Anemones which is a lavender crelly with beautiful glitters!

Mango Bunny Polish Life Aquatic is a teal jelly with colorful glitters! This is three coats for full opacity.

This is a great little duo! I think they are all sold out, but you’re going to want to keep your eye on these two indie brands! They are producing some pretty amazing polishes!!

Seattle Pride Mani

{Press Sample}

This mani starts with two coats of Fairytale Finish Beastquake which was originally sent to me as a press sample. I used Mundo de Unas Neon Green and a design from It Girl Fashion Plates IG102 (which was also sent to me as a press sample.)

When I showed my husband, he said, “It’s ok, but it looks a lot like Seahawks colors” and I was like, “UM! That’s totally what I was going for!”

I need your help! This month, Bloglovin’ is having a contest to see who can gain the most followers in August. You would really make my day if you snuck on over there and followed my little ol’ blog!!!
Follow Betty on Bloglovin’

And if you told some friends to do the same, that would be like even more amazing. You would have so much good e-karma, you wouldn’t even know what to do with all of it.

Fairytale Finish Washington Fandoms!!

{Press Sample}

Fairytale Finish came out with some fabulous new duos to celebrate Washington Fandoms! What Fandoms am I referring to? The Seahawks and the Sounders, of course!!

First, let’s take a look at the Seahawks Duo, called “12 Isn’t a Number, It’s a Way of Life”.

This is Fairytale Finish Make Them See Green which I actually had the honor of naming! Now I’m wondering if I missed a great opportunity for a hilarious pun…I should have suggested “Make Them Sea Green”. LOL! See what I did there?! Oh man. Sometimes I crack me up! I used two thin coats for this swatch. Yep! Just two! Amanda, the creator of Fairytale Finish, said three might be necessary but I was happy with two coats so why waste perfectly good polish??

The second polish in this duo is Fairytale Finish Beastquake! This is a dark blue linear holo and it’s gooooorgeous!

Next, we have the Seattle Sounders duo called “Sounders Faithful”.

This is Fairytale Finish Rave Green and is a gorgeous neon green with blue glitters. Once again, Amanda said three coats were in order. I did two coats on one nail and three coats on the others. Can you tell which one just has two coats? Nope! Neither can I! We have another two-coater here, folks!

Now you better sit down and hold on to your hats because this next one is a doozy!!!!!!

This is Fairytale Finish Eternal Blue and it’s amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. I am so in love with this. I gazed at every photo I took with love in my eyes. (And not just because of the heart glitters!) I have it swatched here over black but you can swatch it over all colors for different effects!!

Thanks again to Fairytale Finish for dropping these off at my house last night. :) :) :)

Fairy Tale Finish July 2015

{Purchased By Me}

This month’s Fairytale Finish subscription box is another awesome pair of polishes! The add-on item this month is a sample pack of a mani bomb powder. (I seriously don’t understand mani bombs. Water is the worst thing for your nails…so why does soaking them in water for 15-20 minutes seem like a good idea? I sincerely want someone to explain this to me.)

First up, we have Fairytale Finish Crushed Garnet. This is a plum jelly with a nice splattering of glitter. I used three coats to get full opacity. This one is seriously gorgeous and when the glitters catch the light – it’s amazing!

Fairytale Finish Sweet Sapphire Sky is a blue microglitter with larger purple glitters. This one is also stunning! I used three coats of this with no undies for full coverage.

I’ve really been enjoying the Fairytale Finish Endless Fairytales box so far. This is only the second month, but so far I’ve loved wearing all four polishes!

Fairytale Finish Endless Fairytales June 2015

{Purchased By Me}

Last month was the first month of Fairytale Finish Endless Fairytales! This is an indi nail polish subscription where we get two mystery polishes every month.

This month, we got Mermaid Tears and Unicorn Princess as well as a few fairytale-themed decals.

Mermaid Tears is a teal jelly with shard glitter. I did need four coats of this one to get to the coverage I wanted, but I’m dying over these shard glitters. They are for real awesome. I think this is my only polish with shard glitter in it.

Unicorn Princess is a white crelly with pink, purple, and yellow glitters. I did three coats of this one. The formula was very smooth!

What do you think of the inaugural box of Fairy Tale Finish Endless Fairytales?

Mermaid Tears is one of the prizes in my epic July giveaway!!! Enter here:
