OPI With a Nice Finn-Ish Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}{Affiliate Links}

I was perusing Sally Beauty Supply and found a nice little basked of clearance polishes. OPI With a Nice Finn-ish was among them. I decided to buy it just for fun. (There is no other reason to buy polish, right?)

I love pink and gold together so I decided to use Mundo de Unas Barbie and a design from Cici&Sisi Plate 15 to create some nail art on top of the OPI.

opi-with-a-nice-finn-ish

OPI With a Nice Finn-ish is a coppery gold with a metallic finish. I have a lot of metallic golds in my collection but this one is browner than most, so I’m happy I decided to bring it home with me!

I had a little trouble mixing up the MDU properly, despite using my awesome ProShaker. I could have run the polish through the ProShaker more than once, but we were going to be late for a family dinner. (Thank God for fast drying top coats, amIright???)

You have to look pretty hard to see the stamping design in real life. The colors are both so dark that it was hard to see. But that goes to show how well MDU stamps over dark colors! :)

Enchanted Polish Dragon

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

Enchanted Polish recently came out with a new collection that was all fairy-tale creature themed. Today, I have Enchanted Polish Dragon layered over a black creme. It has both a shimmer and a duochrome element to it. It shifts from an evergreen to cranberry.

I used one coat of Dragon over two coats of black.

Not one to go with a plain mani, I used the Cici&Sisi yellow collection to stamp this swirly design. The stamping polish is Mundo de Unas Black.

Stamping using Bliss Kiss Simply Peel for Clean Up!

{Affiliate Links}{Press Sample}{Purchased By Me}

Today’s mani starts with two coats of Color Club Tall, Dark, and Handsome which is from their Love Tahiry collection. I used Mundo de Unas Forest and a design from the yellow Cici&Sisi set to stamp the design on.

I recently did a review of Bliss Kiss Simply Peel liquid latex (See it here!) and I wanted to show you how I use it to clean up my stamping nail art….or to be more precise, how I use it to avoid having to clean up!!

Before stamping, I put a layer of the liquid latex around my cuticles and sidewall of my nails. My fingers are posed all awkward because if the latex will stick to itself so I couldn’t have them touching!

bliss-kiss-simply-peel-liquid-latex

When Bliss Kiss Simply Peel is dry, it becomes clear with a splattering of glitter to show you where it is. Here is my stamping pre-cleanup. As you can see, stamping can be a pretty messy affair! Before Simply Peel, I would use a cotton swab and a concealer brush with acetone to clean up all the polish on my skin. Then, I would have to apply some lotion to re-hydrate my skin. I would wait until the lotion absorbed before taking pictures. That was a little tedious.

liquid-latex-reviews

With Simply Peel, I just peel it off! I don’t have to put on lotion before my pictures are taken because the latex doesn’t dry out your skin! Look! Look! It just all comes off! Without acetone! It’s amazing and I’m so glad I have this because it makes life so much easier. And let’s be real – – It’s super fun to peel this off your skin.

I like the subtle look of this. Looks like this are great to wear to work because it’s not totally obvious you have nail art on. Luckily for me, my work lets me wear whatever I want on my nails, but that’s not the case in a lot of places! Even the dark purple might not be allowed some places, which makes me sad. :( would you ever turn down a job offer based on their nail polish policies?

Today’s mani is two coats of Sally Hansen Velour which is from their Velvet Texture Collection. Then, I used Mundo de Unas Cream and a design from Cici&Sisi’s Yellow Collection to create this look. Sitting outside, reading a book, petting my dogs, and looking at holo polish in the sun!

Valentine’s Day Nail Art using Cupcake Polish Elizabeth

Betty’s First MDU Stamping Polish

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

I finally jumped on the Mundo de Unas wagon! I had been avoiding it for a long time because these polishes are from Mexico and take forever to get to the states! I ordered on December 4th and assumed I wouldn’t see any polish until the new year. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived on December 23rd. That is still a long wait, but not as long as I was expecting!

For this mani, I started with two coats of December 2014. I used MDU Red Wine and a design from the pink Cici&Sisi set.

mundo-de-unas-stamping-polish

My first impression is that yes, this polish stamps quite well. It is very thick and plays well with both squishy and firm stampers. In fact, you can’t even really tell a difference. I used squishy on the fingers to your left and firm on the fingers to your right. To me, they look the same crispness so that’s good news! Sounds like you can use whatever stamper you prefer!

One downside is the smell of this polish. It totally reeks. It doesn’t smell like polish, it smells like craft paint. Maybe it is craft paint?? LOL. It has the texture and thickness of paint!

A Visit from the Mailman

By Anne Smith of Betty’s Beauty Bombs

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The polish was put in the helmer with care,
In hopes that more top coat soon would be there;
The cremes were all nestled in the top of the drawer;
While visions of stamping made their dreams soar.
And hubby in his sweats and me in my jammies,
Had just settled in for video games and mani’s.
When out on the porch there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Carefully opened the shutters and moved the sash.
The light was shining off the pouring down rain,
Showing me a smudged mani; I cried in pain!
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a late-coming mailman and packages so dear,
With a delivery man carrying packages quite smallish,
I knew in a moment it must be more polish.
More rapid than eagles my heart did soar,
And I whistled, and shouted, and called out some more:
“Here, Holo! now, Jelly! now Glitter and Texture!
On, Creamy! on, Shimmer! on, Topper and Mixtures!
On top of my pinkie! On top of them all!
Now dry real fast! dry real fast! Dry real fast, all!!”

Enchanted Polish December 2014 Nail Art

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

For this nail art, I started with two coats of Enchanted Polish December 2014. Then, I used Konad White and a design from Cici&Sisi Set one to create the look. It kinda looks like a chain link fence to me, but in a feminine way…

Northern Star Reindeer Games

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

Northern Star Reindeer Games was one of the four polishes in the December 2014 beauty quartet box. This is my first Northern Star polish and the formula is fantastic! Reindeer Games is a brown holo. I did two coats for this look.  I used the Cici&Sisi Christmas Plate and Konad White to do the stamping nail art. I’ve been obsessed with snowflakes this season. Sorry if you’re getting sick of them! I just think snowflakes look awesome on top of pretty much every color. Plus, they’re a great way to be seasonal and festive without having to commit to a certain holiday.

Sally Hansen Velvet Texture Nail art

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

For this mani, I started with Sally Hansen Crushed which is from their new, limited edition, velvet texture collection. This dries super fast and into a cool matte finish which makes it perfect for nail art. I used a design from this Cici&Sisi stamping plate set and used Konad Black as my stamping polish. I know it’s not a very seasonal design, but I don’t want to flood your eyes with snowflakes. LOL. It’s not winter in all parts of the world, so this mani is for the southern hemisphere folks! Or for folks in the northern hemisphere that wish they were in the southern!

I’m totally in love with today’s mani.  I would love to wear pink and black for the rest of my life… Well, ok, probably not. That would get boring, but it certainly is my favorite color combination!

This pink is Enchanted Polish September 2014. The design is from this Cici&Sisi stamping plate collection and I simple used Konad black to stamp the design.
