Blingy Nails

{Purchased by Me}

The perfect mani for your holiday season must certainly have some bling, right? These are my holiday blingy nails! I started with one coat of Pretty Serious Presence (which is my new favorite black creme, by the way. It’s a one-coater. For real.) Then, I used Orly Gossip Girl and sponged it on the tips. Gossip Girl is a gorgeous gold glitter with small golden holo microglitters and larger hex gold glitters. It sponged on really well and was very easy to use as a gradient.

Black and Teal Nail Art Stamping

{Purchased by Me}{Press Sample}

Today’s black and teal nail art starts with three coats of Seven Psychedelic which was originally sent to me as a press sample. Then, I used Mundo de Unas Black and Bundle Monster plate BM-XL206 to stamp this flowery design on top.

I know this isn’t holiday nail art…which is probably what you expect to see all this week! But I wanted to mix it up and try to throw something unexpected out there today.

Red with Black Flowers Nail Art

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

For this black flowers nail art, I started with two coats of Seven Cosmetics Cherry on Top. Then, I used Mundo de Unas Black and a design from Bundle Monster plate BM-XL206.

I really like the partial design this stamping design gives. It makes the flowers a bit of an accent rather than the focus of the nail.

Pretty Serious Holiday 2015 Collection

{Purchased by Me}

Today I’m going to show you the Pretty Serious Holiday 2015 Collection. This is a collection of eight metallic polishes. I had no formula issues and a lot of these could easily be one-coaters. (Which means I need to try stamping with them!!!)

Pretty Serious The Night Before… I’m super impressed with this formula. It was so smooth and easy to apply. Normally with a polish with this finish, it’s too thick, but this was dreamy!

Pretty Serious Santa’s Sunburn

Pretty Serious A Christmas Time Paradox

Pretty Serious Frosty the Snowborg

Pretty Serious Eat, Drink, and Assimilate

Pretty Serious Joy to the Overlords

Pretty Serious Yuletide of the Machines

Pretty Serious Hack the Halls

What do you think of this year’s Pretty Serious Holiday Collection? I have to say, that I love every single one of them. Pretty Serious is one of my favorite indie brands and this collection is exceptionally beautiful.

Gray with Red Flowers Nail Art

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

Today’s nail art looks is one of my favorites that I’ve ever done! It’s simple and clean and pretty. I started with two coats of Seven Cosmetics Blowing Smoke which was originally sent to me as a press sample. I used Mundo de Unas Red to stamp this flowers design from Bundle Monster plate BM-XL206.

Christmas Nail Art

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

Today’s mani is for the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge. This week’s prompt is Christmas! I started with two coats of NYC Ruby Slippers which was originally sent to me as a press sample. Then, I used Mundo de Unas Military Green and the Bundle Monster + Nailstamp4fun collab plate to create the star design.

Brown and Purple Stamping Nail Art

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

This nail art starts with two coats of Sally Hansen Spice Age which was originally sent to me as a press sample. Then, I used Mundo de Unas Lilac to stamp a design from Bundle Monster BM-XL206 which is a collaboration plate with Nailstamp4fun.

Snowflake Nail Art Stamping

[Press Sample}{Affiliate Link}

Who’s up for some more wintery nail art? Today I have some snowflake nail art for you! I used last year’s Cici&Sisi holiday plate which appears to no longer be available. However, all their stamping plates are awesome and I get a ton of use out of them. If you haven’t tried them yet, I highly recommend it! I used Sally Hansen Buffalo Nickel as my base color. (This was originally sent to me as a press sample.) My stamping polish was Konad White.

Bling Snowman Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}

This mani starts with one coat of Pretty Serious Absence (yes! One fabulous coat!) Then, I put Sally Girl Bling Snowman on top. The effect is marvelous!

Then, I thought I would stamp a subtle design on top. I used Mundo de Unas Black and a design from Bundle Monster BM-XL209.

Chopsaver Review

{Press Sample}

Chopsaver sent me their lip balm to review for you. Chopsaver was invented by a trumpet player who needed his lips to be moisturized in so that dry lips didn’t adversely affect his craft. I totally get this. I played the oboe for a number of years and it was a delicate balance between moisturizing and not having too much goop that gets in the way of playing. (My oboe teacher used to lecture me on how I wear too much lipstick. LOL. All my reeds were tinted pink and red.)

This lip blam couldn’t have come at a better time for me. It’s been pretty cold around here lately and my lips are definitely feeling it. I started carrying Chopsaver around everywhere I went and I can now tell you this is a great lip balm!

This one doesn’t have much of a smell, which is really nice. Sometimes the scented lip balms don’t work as well as a product that is just focusing on being good at what it’s supposed to do. Chopsaver is a lip balm work horse and does a great job treating my chronic dry lips.

Thanks for reading my Chopsaver review! What do you think of this balm? Had you heard of it before?

Enchanted Polish December 2015 and Holiday 2015

december-2015 enchanted-polish-december-2015-swatch

Here’s December 2015 with flash from my camera to really bring out the holo.

Enchanted Polish Holiday 2015 is a juicy cranberry holo.

Holiday 2015 with flash.

Enchanted Polish Neptune is not part of the 2015 monthly polishes but it was part of the same pre-order. This is a teal-blue duochrome with glitters. I freaking love this one and I’m super happy it’s mine! All mine!

Derma e Skin Care Review

{Press Sample}

Derma e sent me two of their skin care products to review for you. Derma e products are vegan, gluten-free, GMO-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and packaged for recyclability. They also use a wind-powered facility for production! Talk about responsible!

Derma e sent me their Purifying Daily Detox Scrub and their Evenly Radiant Dark Circle Eye Creme. I used the scrub every other day or so and the eye creme twice a day.

The Purifying Daily Detox Scrub is safe for daily use. It leaves my skin feeling clean, refreshed, and minty! Yep! It has a bit of a minty feeling after use. It goes away a few minutes later. It’s kind of a neat sensation!

The Evenly Radiant Dark Circle Eye Creme is absolutely a fantastic product. I have genetic dark circles that are impossible to get rid of. I’ve tried my whole life so I’d actually given up on trying to treat my dark circles. This eye creme does not help with genetic dark circles but holy cow…I did not realize how much of my dark circles were not genetic. Within a few days of use, I started noticing a significant decrease in my dark circles. This has resulted in needed to use less concealer. It’s actually pretty great and Derma e has turned me from their blogger in to a customer!

I use the eye cream twice a day, every day.

Thanks for reading my Derma e skin care review! Have you tried or heard of this brand? They sell a wide spectrum of skin care products. As I continue to purchase the eye cream, I’m going to start trying each of their other products. I have my sights set on the Evenly Radiant Brightening Cleanser next!

Pink Paisley Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}

This mani starts with two coats of Fairytale Finish Crystal Ball which is from the November Neverending Fairytales subscription box. I used Mundo de Unas Mexican Pink to stamp  this paisley nail art  design from Bundle Monster plate BM-XL209. This plate is a collaboration between Bundle Monster and an amazing blogger from Lucy’s Stash.

Born Pretty Store French Tip Water Decals

{Press Sample}{Affiliate Links}

Born Pretty Store sent me these french tip water decals to review for you! I love water decals because they are so quick and easy to use! They are perfect for nights when you get home late  from work, want to do some nail art, but don’t have time for a whole big production.

I used Pretty Serious Presence as my white base. I really wanted the tips to pop which is why I chose white. I also think a black base would look pretty cool because then you’d just have flowers on your tips!

Thanks again to BPS for sending me these to review! You can find these supplies and more in the nail art section of the Born Pretty Store. Use code FYL91 to receive 10% off all your supplies at

40 Great Nail Art Ideas…Winter Nails

{Purchased by Me}

This mani is part of the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge and this week’s prompt is winter nails! I did a whole bunch of winter stamping looks last year so I decided to do something more simple and different for today’s winter nail art. I really hate snow…the only time I kinda like it is when the top layer has frozen and when you step on it, you break through the ice and it’s crunchy but everything below the ice layer is powder. Do you know what kind of snow I’m talking about? Well this mani represents that particular kind of snow!

I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow (obviously. LOL) and then sponged OPI Which is Witch? on the tips.

I took this picture with flash just so you could see how sparkly Which is Witch? really is! It’s super stunning in sunlight.

Seven Cosmetics Holiday Polish Collection

{Press Sample}

Seven Cosmetics sent me their holiday collection to swatch and review for you! This collection is three cremes and two metallics. They are all in square bottles which is perfect for storing in my Ikea Alex drawers. No wasted space! :) Each of the cremes needed two coats while the metallics needed three thin coats.

Seven Blowing Smoke is a dove gray creme. This is a great, clean color.

Seven Cherry on Top is a cheerful cherry red. This one is particularly perfect for the holidays without being too much “Christmas red”.

Seven Psychedelic is an amazing teal metallic. This one is super gorgeous and is my favorite of the collection.

Seven Seductive is a deep coppery red. For some reason, this one chipped on me quickly. I don’t know if I was extra hard on my nails that day or if there was something wonky about my body chemistry, but I thought I should mention it.

Seven Heartless is a dark purple creme. This is almost a vampy kind of purple and is great for the winter season.

Thanks again to Seven Cosmetics for sending me their holiday collection to show you! Do you have a favorite from this collection?

Glitter Daze Raspberries & Rum

{Purchased by Me}

Today I have the November 2015 Daze of the Month polish to show you! This is Glitter Daze Raspberries & Rum! This is a dark purple jelly with a wide variety of different types of glitters. My favorite are the shards, even if they are far and few between! I only needed two coats for full opacity. In this month’s box, we also received a chocolate treat…which I ate before taking pictures! Oops! :P

Born Pretty Store Review – Gold V Stickers

{Press Sample}{Affiliate Links}

Born Pretty Store sent me this sheet of gold nail art stickers to review for you! These are super easy to apply for instant nail art! I started with Sally Hansen Heart to Heart which is a lovely classic red creme.

This design reminds me of both The Great Gatsby and Wonder Woman. In my head, I was imagining festive holiday, but I will totally take a mani that looks like Wonder Woman any day!

These stickers laid wonderfully flat, despite my sharp c-curve. They were very easy to apply. For added durability, you’ll want to add a topcoat as well. I waited until the red polish was completely dry before applying so I could preposition, if necessary, without ruining the base color.

Thanks again to BPS for sending me these to review! You can find these supplies and more in the nail art section of the Born Pretty Store. Use code FYL91 to receive 10% off all your supplies at

Blue and Red Nail Art

{Press Sample}{Purchased by Me}

Today’s mani starts with two coats of China Glaze Don’t get Elfed Up from the Cheers! collection. (This one was originally sent to me as a press sample.) Then, I used Mundo de Unas Red and a design from Bundle Monster Plate BM-XL208.

Drugstore Holiday Nail Polish Collections

{Press Sample}

Sally Hansen and NYC each sent me two of their holiday polishes to swatch and share with you! I’ve always been a big fan of these two brands because they are inexpensive, easy to find, and of great quality! All swatches are two coats.

Sally Hansen Buffalo Nickel is a metallic silver.

Sally Hansen Spice Age is a shimmery metallic brown that is super gorgeous in sunlight.

NYC Ruby Slippers is a red jelly full of little glitters. I love all the jelly+glitter polishes from NYC and this one is no exception!

NYC Sea of Diamonds is a blue jelly with glitters. This is another stunner from NYC! It’s sparkles galore!

Some of these polishes are re-promotes but all of them are beautiful! Never underestimate the beauty of a drugstore polish!

SinfulColors Call You Later

{Purchased by Me}

I started with one coat of Pretty Serious Absence and then topped it with SinfulColors Call You Later. This is a lovely green microglitter. You could do a few coats of Call You Later alone and probably get a great green glitter bomb happening.

Smooth ‘N Shine Hair Care Review

{Press Sample}{Affiliate Links}

Today, I have a Smooth ‘N Shine hair care review for you! Smooth ‘N Shine sent me two hair styling products to review for you! You can find Smooth ‘N Shine at Walmart, Family Dollar, Target, CVS & Walgreens. (Use the links provided to earn cash back from Shop at Home! Yes, they really do pay you to shop.)

I was sent the Smooth ‘N Shine Hair Polisher ($4.99) and the Smooth ‘N Shine Edge Smoothing Pomade ($2.99). Both of them smell really good! The pomade even has a bit of a minty smell to it.

I think my hair looks much shinier and frizz-free than when I don’t use any product at all! I’m super impressed with the lack of frizz! In this humid climate, I typically have fly-aways and frizz all over the place – even after I’ve just finished styling my hair. My hair couldn’t be smoother now!

The pomade had a medium to low hold for me. Most products do – if they hold a style at all. My hair is so fine and limp that it really refuses to stay in any style! What I love about the pomade is that it’s hiding the fact that I’m long, long overdue for a haircut. My ends look smooth and shiny even though in reality they’re full of split ends! (Don’t worry Lindsay! I’m coming to see you really soon!!) Neither of these products weighed down my fine hair, either, which was really nice. A lot of products will leave me looking like a dog that’s been left out in the rain.

Even Bandit was shocked at how smooth my hair looked. Either that, or he saw a squirrel.

I would recommend checking out the Smooth ‘N Shine products. The prices are completely affordable and the claims on the packaging appear to be true!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas…Glitter Topper

{Purchased by Me}{Affiliate Links}

Today’s mani is for the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge. This week’s prompt is Glitter Topper/Flakie. My assigned technique is swirls! I started with one coat of Pretty Serious Absence and used Revlon Cosmic Flakies as my flakier topper. Then, I used the Pueen Fireworks Festival 2014 stamping plate which had a lovely swirly design on it. The stamping polish was Mundo de Unas White.

At first, I had no idea how I was going to combine swirls and a glitter topper but I actually like what ended up happening here!

Cinderella Cosmetic Bag

{Press Sample}{Affiliate Link}

Walgreen’s sent me this gorgeous Cinderella Cosmetic Bag to review for you! These aren’t available in stores according to Walgreen’s website so make sure to order yours online! I was sent the two piece clutch set that retails for $9.99. It comes with a clear bag and a beautiful Cinderella bag that has a bit of a metallic finish.

This is the perfect size to throw in your purse with all your emergency supplies! I always make sure I have qtips, powder, floss, mints, tampons, and chapstick. I’ve already transferred all my emergency items into this Cinderella cosmetic bag!

The inside lining has carriages and high heels on the pattern and it is just so cute! The inside lining of the clutch also matches the lining on the clear bag.

What do you think of this limited edition Cinderella cosmetic bag?

Soufeel Charm Bracelet Review – The Holiday Collection

{Press Sample}

Soufeel sent me another charm bracelet to review for you! The charms I picked this time are all from their holiday collection and are simply gorgeous! (You can see my previous review of Soufeel Charm Bracelets here.) They always have great prices, but they are even better right now! The bracelets do ship from China so if you’re interested in giving or getting one as a holiday present this year, don’t wait to order! Shipping takes about two weeks so there is still time to get the gift here before the holidays! The best news is that they already come in a lovely gift box!

I got six gorgeous and highly detailed charms – a stocking, a ring of stars, a snowy log cabin, a snowman, Santa, and a reindeer!

The detailing on these charms is quite lovely. Each charm is beautiful on its own and when combined together, it’s a stunning bracelet! These charms also fit other name brand charm bracelets so if your loved one already has a bracelet, you can simply add these charms! Very smart on Soufeel‘s part!

Here I am, spotted out in the wild wearing the bracelet! I felt so festive wearing these charms.

Thanks again to Soufeel for sending this lovely bracelet my way! It was a pleasure reviewing it and I love wearing it!
