Woot Woot! Seahawks!!!!

{Purchased By Me}

Get ready!!!!!! You’re going to have an influx of Seahawks nail art from now until (at least!) Sunday! Today’s Super Blue Friday nails start with a three coats of Dollish Polish Toss my Salad which is the perfect neon green for Seahawks nail art! Then, I used my handy striping tape, made a star design (that somewhat resembles the British flag….) and used OPI Wharf!Wharf!Wharf! on top. Wharf is a dark blue textured polish so I did not topcoat it after application.

Just in case you’re not a Seahawks fan, here is Dollish Polish Toss My Salad all on it’s own. Although, if you’re NOT a Hawks fan, I would be mighty surprised if you got this far down in my post! :)

Mango Bunny Polish The Twelves

{Purchased By Me}

I just got Mango Bunny Polish The Twelves in the mail! Go Hawks!!!!! This is a white milky polish with neon green, blue, and white glitters. I did three coats. As usual, the formula is awesome!

mango-bunny-polish-the-twelves mango-bunny-polish

In the last 18 months, I’ve gotten Seahawks fever and I got it bad!!! I’m all about the Hawks these days; I just can’t get enough. So obviously when I saw MBP post about this limited edition polish, I jumped on that ASAP!

Blue and Brown Nail Art

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

Today’s mani starts with two coats of Zoya Yummy which I’ve had for years and is still one of my favorite blues. I stamped using Mundo de Unas Caramel with a design from Pueen Plate 85.

That’s not smudging you see on my middle finger….I accidentally stamped that finger twice!!! Oopsies!!! Lol! Has that ever happened to you? I’m actually a little impressed with myself for how closely it lined up with itself. Apparently, I need to watch a little less Doctor Who when doing nail art and watch my nails a little more!!

Here is a plain swatch of Zoya Yummy so you can see what a pretty blue it is. I have used it a number of times for sky in different nail art designs. It’s the perfect shade of blue for any season, really. My mother in law gave it to me in March 2012 after I’d had major surgery. It was one of my first Zoyas!

GlitterDaze Daze of the Month Club

{Purchased By Me}

I recently signed up for the GlitterDaze Daze of the Month Club. This was my first month. It’s $15/month and you get a full size limited edition polish and at least one extra goodie. This month, the goodies were a calendar magnet branded with the Glitter Daze logo and a small pack of star studs. The polish is Glitter Daze That’s So Last Light Year. When I first pulled it out of the box, I felt a little “Meh” but once I started putting it on, I quickly fell in love.

I did three coats of this one because it was still a little sheer with two. This reminds me of cookies and cream ice cream! Or those speckled eggs candies that come out in the spring! Aren’t those delightful???

I will continue on the Daze of the Month club because I super love nail polish (duh). I do wish that they sent shipping information. The money was taken out of my account on the 15th and then I never heard anything. On the 26th, I messaged her and she looked at the tracking from her and and told me it was actually being delivered that day, which was true. But part of the fun of online shopping is obsessively tracking packages, right?! At this point, that’s the only thing I wish I could change about the subscription.

Double Stamping Modern Nail Art

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

This is the first double stamping mani I’ve done that I wasn’t embarrassed to show you! I started with two coats of Enchanted Polish Paint it Black. This is certainly a high quality black creme but you could use any of your favorite black polishes for this look. Then, I used Sally Hansen Sterling Silver and Titanium Flush which are both from last year’s color foils collection. I used my firm Konad stamper for these ones since that’s the only stamper that I can get to pick up these polishes. The design is from Pueen Plate 77.

Here is a plain swatch of Enchanted Polish Paint it Black. It went on quite smoothly.

And here’s my design! I have some smudging on my pointer finger. I feel like that’s the finger that always gets smudges. I’m going to have to have a firm talking to that finger to see why it’s always misbehaving.

I like how it looks like fun doodles…but in a controlled way. Yes, I was the kid that only colored in the lines!!

I took a picture before I did the double stamping just in case it looked horrid.  Again, you can see my pointed finger is being a jerk.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Enchanted Polish Sweet Mint Dupes?

{Purchased By Me}

When I first swatched Enchanted Polish Sweet Mint, it reminded me a lot of China Glaze For Audrey. I wanted to do a side-by-side comparison of the two. As I was going through my polish drawers, I spotted China Glaze At Vase Value which also looked quite similar!

As I put the bottles side-by-side, I could see that my memory might have been playing tricks on me. These remind me of one another, but they don’t even look like dupes in the bottle. They are similar, but certainly not the same. At Vase Value is the full size CG and For Audrey is the mini.

Can you figure out which bottle(s) painted which nail(s)???

If you take out my pinkie, I actually have a pretty perfect ombre effect happening!

Gloss 48 Glisten & Glow Review

{Press Sample}

Gloss 48 was kind enough to send me the Glisten&Glow collection that released on their site on Wednesday, January 14th! If you like what you see, act fast because their low prices only last about a week before they go up! The set includes two brand, spankin’ new exclusives, the hard-to-find / coveted Rebecca vs Diane from the Cheer’s Collection, and the cult favorite HK Girl – Fast Drying + Super Shiny Top Coat!

First, we have Glisten&Glow Rebecca vs Diane which is a vibrant pink holo. I just about squealed when I saw this because it’s holo and pink and that’s pretty much my dream. I did two coats and then topped it with Glisten&Glow HK Girl Topcoat.

Here is Rebecca vs Diane with flash. See the beautiful holo???? Oh my! I think it’s just gorgeous!

Glisten&Glow Boylston Street is one of the Gloss 48 exclusives. This is a rich blue holo. I did two coats and sealed it with Glisten&Glow HK Girl Topcoat.

Here is Glisten&Glow Woody’s Wacky Wit. This is a dusky purple holo.

Finally, I received the awesome Glisten&Glow HK Girl Topcoat. I’ve been a fan of this topcoat for years. It dries amazingly fast, doesn’t dull holo, and doesn’t smear nail art. It really is a holy grail topcoat. Some people don’t like the smell, but to be honest, I can’t smell anything. Perhaps all the acetone has burned off my scent receptors? I don’t think it smells in differently or more strongly than any other polish. I will typically have about 4 bottles of this on hand! I never want to run out! LOL. Another great thing about it is that it  doesn’t get gloopy and stringy halfway through the bottle like some other fast drying tocoats do.

Thanks again to Gloss 48  for sending me these awesome bottles to show you! The polishes are gorgeous and the topcoat is awesome! If you like them, act fast because the sale price won’t last forever!

Konad Black vs Mundo de Unas Black – The Winner May Surprise You

{Purchased By Me}

If you have been in the stamping community for any length of time at all, you’ve heard of both Konad and Mundo de Unas (MDU). MDU is frequently touted as one of the best stamping polishes you can get your hands on. I have been a pretty faithful Konad user, so I thought I would do a side-by-side comparison of the two. I picked a design that had both thin lines and thick areas. I used the same stamper (Messy Mansion Firm) for both polishes. I cleaned both the plate and the stamper in between each use.

Can you figure out which two nails have Konad and which two nails have MDU on them??

Two Tone Green Stamping

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

Today’s mani starts with two coats of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet which is an awesome mint creme. I purchased what I thought was Konad Black on Amazon but it turned out to be Konad Gold Black which reads more like a dark green. I decided to pair the greens together to create a green two-tone stamping mani. The design is from Pueen Plate 81. Unfortunately, the stamping smeared a little when I put topcoat on which made me pretty sad.

Here is a plain swatch of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet which went on very smoothly and self-leveled quite nicely.

Enchanted Polish Sweet Mint

{Purchased By Me}

I managed to snag Enchanted Polish Sweet Mint in a surprise stocking earlier this month. To my knowledge, this is the first time Enchanted Polish has released plain cremes. I was very curious to see how this would be. The formula was quite nice and did not drag/pull on the second coat like some pastel polishes do. However, I don’t think this is truly worth paying $17 for unless you’re a nutbag collector like me. I just like having it because it’s an EP not because it’s a super special mint or anything.

Someday soon, I’m going to need to compare this to China Glaze For Audrey as these look quite similar, if memory serves.

I try to use polishes that are fairly easy to get. I don’t want you to see something here that is impossible to find. Enchanted Polish is my one terrible vice! I just am so in love with collecting it! Le sigh. Hopefully you can just enjoy looking at the pretties for posts like this one! ;) Thanks for stopping by today!

Color Club Miss Bliss Nail Art

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}{Press Sample}

Today’s mani is part of the Crumpet’s 52-week pick and mix challenge. The prompts for this week are Film and Holo. This mani is just addressing the holo portion of the prompts.  I grabbed Color Club Miss Bliss. To this day, the Color Club Halo Hues are some of my favorite holos of all time. I used Mentality Grey Opaque to stamp which was given to me as a gift from Mentality.  The design is from Pueen Plate 81.

I liked wearing this mani because the stamping was so subtle. Sometimes it’s nice to have nail art that’s just for me and not for the person across the room! :)

Here is a plain swatch of Color Club Miss Biss without and then with flash. See how beautiful this is?? And it’s easy to find on Amazon! Woo Hoo! This first pic is in a light box.

This is in natural light with a flash from my camera. This is really what you see in sunlight. It’s quite stunning!

Sally Hansen Patent Gloss Chic

{Purchased By Me}

These polishes flew off the shelf and jumped in my shopping cart! Oops! These are the new Sally Hansen Patent Gloss collection. My store only had three of the colors left. I’m sad I missed out on the red one! I managed to pick up Chic, Slick, and Vinyl. I swatched Slick and Vinyl for you here.

Sally Hansen Chic

Chic is a nude creme. This is two coats with no topcoat. That’s right! NO topcoat! These are so ultra shiny it’s amazing! This is a nice nude that almost gives me mannequin hands. (that’s the dream, right?)

Sally Hansen Patent Gloss Swatches

{Purchased By Me}

I’ve been gaga about Sally Hansen’s special collections lately so when I saw the Sally Hansen Patent Gloss, I just had to grab some! Sadly, my store only had two colors left – the black and the blue. If I see the other colors, I’m totally going to get them!

Sally Hansen Vinyl Patent Gloss is a dark, rich black. This is with NO topcoat on! It is this shiny and satiny without any topcoat. I think it’s super gorgeous.

Sally Hansen Slick Patent Gloss is a dark, dark blue. Again, this is two coats with no topcoat! The blue did flood my cuticles a bit and it was super hard to try and clean up! So, you’ll want to be careful so you don’t end up with alien cuticles like me! :P

More Sally Hansen Velvet Texture Swatches!

{Purchased By Me}

I swatched a couple of the Sally Hansen Velvet Texture polishes for you in this earlier post. I was bummed that I didn’t purchased the black one so when I went back to the store and saw it was still in stock, I snatched it up! Along with the blue one….

This first one is Sally Hansen Velveteen. This is a tar black but it applied quite nicely. Nothing like tar. :) I really enjoyed wearing this. It’s a very unique black texture and I can’t wait to do some nail art on top! This is two coats shown.

Sally Hansen Regal is a cobalt blue. This color really pops! This is also two easy coats.

If you don’t like texture, then these aren’t for you. But, if you’re like me, and you love texture, then you might want to be on the lookout for these little guys!

Black and Red Gradient with Stamping

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

It’s been a long time since I did a gradient so I thought it was high time to do one! I started with two coats of OPI From A to Pizzazz, which I got at TJ Maxx so I’m pretty sure that’s not the real name. I used OPI Queen of the Road which is from their 2014 Mustang Collection. I used Konad Black to stamp the design from Pueen 74.

I’m starting to get a reputation at work for always having nail art. On Monday, I just had regular polish on (FingerPaints Hey Mr DJ) and it was like I’d let everyone down! LOL! It’s super funny to me. Trying to explain stamping to someone who has no idea what it is completely blows their minds. A lot of people think I freehand these designs. Yeah, I wish! I’ve posted some freehand work on this blog in 2014 and it was not pretty!

Finger Paints Bright Lights Big City Swatches

{Purchased By Me}

I was at Sally Beauty the other day and saw a new Finger Paints collection! This is Finger Paints Big City Big Lights and it’s full of some pretty fun colors! I bought four of the six. The two I didn’t buy were glitter toppers.

Finger Paints What a Night

What a Night is a beautiful gold/purple duochrome. This is two coats. The shift is quite beautiful. I wish the gold shift leaned a little less on the green side, but I still think this is a very pretty color.

Pink and Teal Stamping Nail Art

{Purchased By Me}{Press Sample}{Affiliate Links}

Today’s mani is for the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts 52-week pick and mix challenge. The prompts for this week are pink/aqua and dotting tools. I decided to combine the two prompts for this week’s mani.  I started with two coats of Sephora Formula X Brazen which is a lovely baby pink. I picked a design from Pueen Plate 75 and used Mundo de Unas Fiji to stamp. Finally, I used Essence Girl’s Night Out (which was originally sent to me as a press sample) to dot the centers of the little flowers in the stamped design.

I think that I went a touch overboard with the dots. It just looks like girly mold. Also, I’m a very irresponsible blogger and did not take a picture before I dotted the design! Sheesh! What is wrong with me? I hope you don’t think I’ve failed you! ;)

Here is a plain swatch of Sephora Formula X Brazen so you can see what a lovely and innocent pink it is. It’s kinda funny that the name is Brazen!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you liked your visit! Please come again. :P

Seche Vite from Live Love Polish Review

{Press Sample}

I was contacted by Live.Love.Polish to do a review of the Seche Vite Topcoat and one of the Seche nail polishes. I’ve used Seche Vite topcoat for years, but stopped using it more recently. One of the reasons I stopped was that it always seemed to shrink my polish. (That means the polish pulls away from the edges of the nail, especially the tip, so you have this weird exposed nail line.) I jumped at the chance to try SV topcoat with their own polish so I could see if shrinkage was still a problem!

Live.Love.Polish was kind enough to let me pick my own color so I chose Seche Precious which looked like a lovely pink. As it turned out, it was even lovelier than I expected. On their website, it looks like a bubblegum pink creme. But in real life, it actually has a blue flame element to it. Not quite a duochrome but certainly not a boring ol’ creme! This just proves that blogger swatches and reviews are super important, right??? :)

Just to keep things brand-focused, I selected Seche Base from my personal stash. I purchased Base with my own money, but the polish and topcoat were sent to me by Live.Love.Polish.

Black and Red Stamping Mani

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

Today’s mani starts with two coats of OPI Just Shocking! which I got at TJ Maxx. I’m sure that this isn’t the original name. TJ Maxx OPI polishes are known for being renamed. If anyone knows what this beauty really is, please let me know! It’s a dark pink shimmer. This is two coats.

I picked this design from Pueen Plate 79 and used my new Mundo de Unas black stamping polish. Be warned about MDU: They totally reek. They smell of acrylic craft paint. Perhaps that’s what they are made of…but I just wanted to warn you! Once on the nails and topcoated, the smell goes away, but when you’re working, it’s definitely pungent.

This mani is for the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts 52-week pick and mix challenge. One of this week’s prompts is ‘dots’. I know that a lot of girls are probably going to do dotticures, but since I’m totally addicted to stamping lately, I decided to bend the rule a bit and do a design that has dots in it.

Here is a plain swatch of OPI Just Shocking. It’s super pretty; I just wish I knew the real name!

Superchic Lacquer Swatches

{Purchased By Me}

I got these two Superchic Lacquers from Gloss48. I had always wanted to try this brand because I think the packaging is super adorable.

This is Superchic Laquer Fumbling Fairytales. This is a light lilac that shifts to a light green. I did need three coats in order for this to have the opacity shown. I’m a little underwhelmed by this polish. You can see it’s not totally smooth. I think the color is pretty, but it’s not super remarkable in any way.

Secondly, I have Superchic Lacquer Witches Agenda for Uberness which is a deep blue with lots of pretty shimmers.  I did need three coats from this one also, which was surprising for such a dark polish. But, I like the color so much it’s kinda worth it.

Have you tried Superchic Lacquers yet? Did you find that they are all three-coaters, or were these unusual?

Pretty Serious Holiday Soiree Collection

{Purchased By Me}

I loved the Pretty Serious Killer Fangirl collection so much that I went online right away and bought the holiday soiree collection. This collection consists of six glitter polishes that are not joking around when you call them a glitter bomb.

Pretty Serious Glitz & Glam

Glitz & Glam is a full coverage gold small glitter. I did three coats to achieve full opacity and did not use a base color. I was very impressed with how well this built up. You could also do one coat over another color for just a little added sparkle. With all three coats together, this is a golden disco ball on your fingers.

Pretty Serious Cocktail Bar

Cocktail Bar is one of the most beautiful polishes I have ever put on my fingers. It is a teal jelly with a few different types of glitter. What makes it super unique is that it also has some blue glitters thrown in for added dimension and charm. I did not want to take this one off. This is just two coats.

Pretty Serious Daphne After Dark

Daphne After Dark is a black jelly with rainbow glitters in it. At first, I didn’t think I was going to like this one too much, but I was quite surprised at its beauty on the nail. This is just two coats, which is also quite nice!

Pretty Serious Red Carpet Treatment

 Red Carpet Treatment is a super sexy red jelly packed with glitters. I only needed two coats for this one. This is a candy apple red and the glitter makes it super festive! I wore this one to my work holiday party!

Pretty Serious Invitation Only

Invitation Only is a beautiful gray with what appears to be green and lavender micro glitters. This is two coats.

Pretty Serious Moments Til Midnight

Moments Til Midnight is a deep blue jelly with small and large silver glitters. I did three coats with this one. This one might be my favorite of the collection, but I’m a huge sucker for teal polishes.

All in all, I am extremely happy with this collection. The colors are gorgeous and the formula is great. I would definitely recommend getting this!

Northern Star Reindeer Games

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}

Northern Star Reindeer Games was one of the four polishes in the December 2014 beauty quartet box. This is my first Northern Star polish and the formula is fantastic! Reindeer Games is a brown holo. I did two coats for this look.  I used the Cici&Sisi Christmas Plate and Konad White to do the stamping nail art. I’ve been obsessed with snowflakes this season. Sorry if you’re getting sick of them! I just think snowflakes look awesome on top of pretty much every color. Plus, they’re a great way to be seasonal and festive without having to commit to a certain holiday.

Enchanted Polish November 2014, EP December 2014, and EP Holiday 2014

{Purchased By Me}

I got these three beauties from my mailman yesterday!!! Hooray!! These are probably the best of the month-named polishes that Enchanted Polish put out this year.

If you haven’t received yours yet and you still want the colors to be a surprise, stop reading now!!!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics Killer Fangirl Collection

{Purchased By Me}

I just got the Pretty Serious Cosmetics Killer Fangirl Collection and I’m totally in love. I’m a huge fan of horror movies so I had to get this collection the instant I saw it. I believe it originally released in October 2013, but I could be wrong.

Pretty Serious Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake is a blue jelly packed with blue and silver glitters and shimmers. At first I was worried that I would need undies, but three coats later, this beauty was nice and opaque. It really does look like a lake on a clear, sunny day!

Pretty Serious Haddonfield

Haddonfield is an orange jelly with lots of orange glitters and a smattering of black glitters. This is exactly what a polish called “Haddonfield” should look like!!! I used three coats for full opacity.

Pretty Serious Elm Street

The great thing about Elm Street is that it’s seasonal for the holidays and nobody knows that it’s based on a horror movie!! Elm Street is a daaaaark red jelly with red and green bar glitters. This formula was a little thicker than the other two, but I still used three coats. I’m not a big fan of bar glitter but they really are the perfect choice to emulate Freddy’s striped sweater.

I have actually already ordered more Pretty Serious polish since I liked these three so much! I got her whole holiday collection! I can’t wait to see what those ones are like in person.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers Ho…Ho…No!!!

{Purchased By Me}

I got this gorgeous polish from the December 2014 Beauty Quartet box. This is Smokey Mountain Lacquer Ho…Ho…No!!! Having grown up in the Rocky Mountains, there was always something that attracted me to the name of Smokey Mountain Lacquers. I know ‘rocky’ and ‘smokey’ aren’t the same…but mountain is!!! This is my first bottle of SML and I totally love it. It was opaque in two thin coats and is totally gorgeous. This color is like a brownish purple.
