The Easiest Nail Art in the World

{Purchased by Me}{Affiliate Links}

I did this nail art on a day when I was feeling truly lazy. I just had no energy to be creative! Unfortunately, I was going out in public so obviously I had to have some sort of art on my nails!! I decided to take the easy way out… This mani is so simple and easy! I started with two coats of Nailtini Bloody Mary which is one of my favorite reds of all time. Then, I used Simply Swift top coat from from which is super fast drying. Once it was dry (about 10 minutes or less) I used these Pueen flower decals that I got for super cheap from Amazon. Then, I did one more coat of Simply Swift to seal them in. That’s it! All done! The fastest nail art ever!

Simply Swift is so shiny that you can hardly even see the decals! LOL! This many held up quite well through the family events of the day, shining the whole time! And I’m the only one who knew it was soooo easy! ;)

Fall Leaves Nail Art

This is one of those manicures that looked way better in my head than on my nails. I wanted my nails to look like fall leaves and instead I think they just turned out looking like a mess! I thought I would “help” by painted leave veins on….not sure it helped at all! LOL! I truly love the fall in the Pacific NW so I might try again with a different style. I absolutely love the gloom and the rain. It’s like this weather was meant for me. I was made to live in this city! I am so much happier when it’s raining…and so much crankier when it’s sunny!! The only downside is the trouble with taking pictures of holo polishes, but that’s just a small price to pay for the glorious rain!!!

Father’s Day Mani – Inspired By His Art

My father is a very important person in my life. He is an incredibly hard worker and instilled in me a work ethic that I never would have summoned up on my own. For his living, he makes beautiful, usable ceramic pottery. The wonderful thing about his pottery is it’s all functional. In fact, my entire dish set was made with his two hands. In honor of Father’s Day, I have attempted to re-create his signature look on my nails.

Here is what his pottery looks like.

Here is the mani I did to recreate the look of the plate:

To recreate the look of the plate, I started with two coats of Julep Anne and let it dry.

Then, I sponged on Nailtini Admiral Perry. I waited until Anne was dry because I wanted a harsher line than you would usually see in a polish gradient.

Then, I used a nail art striping brush to sweep on the squiggly lines in three different colors: Julep Kate (white), Nailtini Bordeaux (wine), and Sally Hansen Jade Jump (green).

I did do one last sweep of Anne and I think I should have skipped that step. Oh well!

Don’t forget to call your dad today! I’m off to call mine. :P

Friday the 13th Mani

In celebration of the date today…I did a Friday the 13th Mani!!! I’m a huge fan of horror movies. I think I own about 100 or more…and Friday the 13th is probably one of my favorites. I love classic slasher flicks! So in celebration of today being Friday the 13th, I did a simple blood-splatter mani. I started with two coats of Formula X for Sephora White Matter. Then, I used Nailtini Bordeaux to drip blood-like drops on the white.

I know this one is not cinematicly accurate…but a machete wouldn’t fit in my lightbox!!! #firstworldproblems

GOT: Coral Striping Tape Nail Art

It’s time for another edition of Golden Oldies Thursday! The premise is that you have to use a polish that you’ve owned for over a year. This week’s theme is “Coral”. You can see last week’s mani by clicking here.

Don’t forget to enter my April giveaway by clicking here!

As soon as I started planning this mani, Julep Sarah popped into my head. I’ve owned it for years but haven’t used it in ages–even though it’s one of my favorite corals ever! It’s a lovely jelly with lots of small shimmers in it. I then decided that I haven’t been doing enough striping tape nail art lately, so I taped off some stripes and applied some Nailtini Admiral Perry. I love navy and coral together! What do you think? Do you have a favorite coral polish?

I was thinking about adding text at the bottom of my posts that would contain fun facts about me. I don’t know if anyone will actually read down here or not! I guess there is only one way to find out! When I’m doing my nails, I like to stream TV shows to keep my brain entertained. Right now, I’m rewatching “How I Met Your Mother”. I watched the series finale last week and I was…slightly disappointed. *Spoilers ahead* If you haven’t watched the finale yet, don’t keep reading! You’ve been warned! Ok…so I feel like I was lied to. 1.) The entire series, we kept getting told that Ted was going to end up with the love of his life and we were lead to believe that was the mother. Well…she died. 2.) They spend so much time in season 8 convincing us that Ted and Robin were great together…and that was clearly a lie! Plus, I don’t like how the writers broke them up. 3.) Robin rejected Ted multiple times across all seasons. Why should we suddenly believe that she wants to be with him? Maybe he’s crazy in love with her, but I never got the sense that the feeling was mutual. And for those three reasons, I was disappointed in the finale. :( Did you watch it? What did you think?

Wonder Woman Inspired Mani

I fell asleep watching TV last weekend. While I was asleep, my husband changed the show to a Wonder Woman cartoon. As I was drifting back to consciousness, I was thinking, “Now this seems interesting…” I’d never seen or read anything Wonder Woman at all today! So tonight I put on the cartoon and got inspired to do this mani. It looked a little better in my head… This is messier than I would have liked, but I still hope you enjoy it!

For this mani, I used
Sally HansenHeart to Heart.
Nailtini Admiral Perry
Konad Special White
Striping Tape
Bundle Monster Plate BM14 (for the stars)

Kleancolor Holo Pink

For this mani, I did two coats of Nailitini Blushing Lady and then one coat of Kleancolor Holo Pink. I thought the holo pink needed the ‘undies’ but I actually  think I would have been ok with just two coats of the glitter! It is very, very dense. I really like the color, but  for some reason, I think Kleancolor polishes smell rank. This will probably deter me from purchasing more in the future!

Nailtini Blushing Lady and Garden Jubilee

Here’s another mani using the Nailtini Garden Party Mini-Bar set. This one started with three coats of Blushing Lady. Even with three coats, it wasn’t opaque, as with Blue Carnation. So far, I am unimpressed with this collection. The “straight up” colors are unwearable by themselves.

Once I put Garden Jubilee over it, I liked the mani but I think Garden Jubilee is too opaque for a top coat ‘mixer’. It covers nearly the entire color of the polish beneath it. I really like the other nailtini products I’ve tried so I think this set is just a fluke.

Nailitini Mini-Bar Mini-Haul

I couldn’t help myself….I bought another mini-bar from Nailtini! I haven’t even swatched my last one! Oh my. Do I have an addiction???

From left to right: Admiral Perry (navy blue), Blue Carnation (mint green), Blushing Lady (rose pink), and Garden Jubilee (multi-dimensional ‘mixer’).

I also splurged and got a mini lip gloss in Pink Ice. Here it is with and without flash.

Nailtini Mini-Bar Mini-Haul

I love my mailman! He is always bringing me presents. :)

Today I got the Nailtini MiniBar collection called Party Circuit. It comes with two straight up colors and three mixers. The colors are Frappe and Bordeaux. The mixers are Spritzer, Crushed Ice and Blue Flame.

I also bought their Garnish Stencil Art.

Here are the stencils. There are 98 total. They are non-reusable stickers.

Here’s Crushed Ice and then Blue Flame.

Here’s Frappe, Bordeaux, and Spritzer.

The whole idea is to mix and match the ‘straight up’ colors with the ‘mixers’ so I’m excited to experiment!
