Color Club Miss Bliss Nail Art

{Purchased By Me}{Affiliate Links}{Press Sample}

Today’s mani is part of the Crumpet’s 52-week pick and mix challenge. The prompts for this week are Film and Holo. This mani is just addressing the holo portion of the prompts.  I grabbed Color Club Miss Bliss. To this day, the Color Club Halo Hues are some of my favorite holos of all time. I used Mentality Grey Opaque to stamp which was given to me as a gift from Mentality.  The design is from Pueen Plate 81.

I liked wearing this mani because the stamping was so subtle. Sometimes it’s nice to have nail art that’s just for me and not for the person across the room! :)

Here is a plain swatch of Color Club Miss Biss without and then with flash. See how beautiful this is?? And it’s easy to find on Amazon! Woo Hoo! This first pic is in a light box.

This is in natural light with a flash from my camera. This is really what you see in sunlight. It’s quite stunning!

Holo Stamping Nail Art

For today’s nail art, I decided to do some holo stamping. I started with two coats of China Glaze Feel the Breeze from the Off the Shore collection. The formula on this one was a little tricky. You can see some thin spots in the swatch photo below. But, after two coats and a top coat, it’s not really that noticeable. Then, I used Color Club Over the Moon to stamp a design from Cici&Sisi Plate 01.

China Glaze Feel the Breeze is a light baby pink. It looks exactly Pepto Bismol. That is fortunate because I actually love that color.

Sea Creatures Nail Art for Challenge Your Nail Art!

It’s time for another round of “Challenge Your Nail Art“. Today’s prompt is “sea creatures”. I have been neglecting my Vivid Lacquer VL023 stamping plate which has mermaids on it, so I couldn’t NOT use it on this challenge! :D I started with two coats of OPI Blue Chips which is an amazing sea blue with holographic shimmers. I got it at TJ Maxx and it was a major score! Once dry, I used Color Club Harp On It to stamp some mermaids and then dotted some of it around. When the mermaids didn’t show up over the blue, I used Konad Special White and it showed up much better. I thought the art needed a little more flair so I grabbed MoYou London Fairytale Plate 06 to stamp some starfish, some bubbles, and some fish around. I like how it turned out!

Holo Stamping Nail Art for Golden Oldies Thursday

Happy Thursday, dear readers!! Today’s prompt for Golden Oldies Thursday is “Black Base”. It was hard to find one that I haven’t used in a year! I use black all the time! I finally settled on Nicole by OPI A-Nise Treat from last year’s Gumdrops collection. I can actually still find these in stores, so if you like textures, be sure to check out your local drugstore or here on Amazon. As a two-fer I’m also using this mani for the stamping plate challenge I’m participating in. I used Color Club Harp On It for stamping with My Online Shop Plate MJXII. I started with two coats of A-Nise Treat, let it dry, and then stamped. I wish the design had thinner lines so you could see more of the base coat.

Color Club Halo Hues for Golden Oldies Thursday!

Obviously this is my favorite week ever for Golden Oldies Thursday. If I had to wear one finish for the rest of my life, it would be holo. It’s just so mesmerizing! Is there anyone that doesn’t like a good holo? For this week, I picked some Color Club Halo Hues because it’s been far, far too long since I used them. Today, I have Color Club Beyond which is a black linear holo and Color Club Eternal Beauty which is a lilac linear holo. Of course as soon as I sat down to do this mani, the clouds came out. Thanks, Pacific NW!

I started with two coats of Color Club Eternal Beauty on all nails except my ring finger, where I did two coats of Color Club Beyond. Once it was dry, I taped off the ring finger and put Eternal Beauty on top to create the black lines.

GOT – Turquoise Prompt

Happy Thursday! Or, as I like to call it, Friday Eve!! This is an extra special Thursday because I have tomorrow off. WOO HOO! This week’s Golden Oldies Thursday prompt is turquoise. At first, I didn’t think I had any polishes that fit but then I realized there were two staring me right in the face. I have been sitting on Color Club Abyss and Color Club Blue-Ming for ages!!!! Quick tangent- I don’t know why it’s called “Blue-Ming”.  There is no person on this planet that would call it blue. It is comfortably in the mint green family. Is it just me, or do mis-named polishes really grind your gears??

I started off with two coats of the light green Blue-Ming. After it was dry, I taped it off and painted one generous coat of Abyss. This polish is a touch greener in real life. My camera and this polish are not friends. Finally, I used some fimo cane that I got pre-cut in this set from Amazon to add extra flair.

GOT: Silver Accent using Color Club Harp On It

This week’s Golden Oldies Thursday challenge prompt is “With a Silver Accent”. I love silver polish so it was hard to find one that I hadn’t used in a year. Finally, I discovered a forgotten beauty in my collection: Color Club Harp On It from the Color Club Halo Hues collection. This collection is full of gorgeous and amazing linear holos. If you want your mind holo-blown, this is the collection to look in to. The great thing about the Halo Hues is they are pretty easy to get a hold of. I got all 12 of mine from Amazon! I just frickin’ love Amazon.

I started with two coats of Color Club Harp On It. Then, I taped off the patterns shown below and used OPI Hey Baby and OPI 4 in the Morning which are both from the Gwen Stefani Collection. I loooove this collection. I have all but one color and I love them all, especially 4 in the Morning. It’s become my go-to black. So much so, that I actually bought a back-up bottle. This is the first back-up bottle I’ve ever purchased! (Well, at least on purpose. LOL. I bought a second set of the Essence Super Heroes collection intending to give them away…but I never did!)

In other news, I’m giving away an Enchanted Polish. Check it out here.

First, let’s take a look at Color Club Harp on It by itself. I just wanted to show you the beautiful holo!

And now for the art:

Put a Bow on it!

It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for a tri-polish mani! This will be the last one in April using the pink, yellow, and blue prompt. I started with two coats of Color Club Miss Bliss and then used my small dotting tool to put on Essie Lots of Lux. Finally, I used some of my Shany fimo cane nail art to apply the bows. I found those bows on Amazon here. I know technically, they’re not polish but I thought I could sneak one through for the last week in April. :D

MoYou Suki Collection Plate 07

Today’s mani is part of the Adventures in Stamping Sunday Challenge. The challenge this week was ‘pastels’. I selected Essence That’s What I Mint as my stamping polish and it actually stamps pretty well! For my base color, I picked Color Club Endless Summer which is a lovely pastel pink. I selected a MoYou Stamping Plate from the Suki Collection. This is plate 07. I am super duper impressed with the MoYou plates. The images are so crisp and clean! Also, each plate has a ton of different full nail designs you can use. In my mani below, you won’t get a specific Asian feel, but when you look at the plate as a whole, that’s what you see. This is why the MoYou stamping plates are so cool! They have so much versatility!!!

Just look at all the different designs from MoYou Suki Collection Plate 07!!!!!!!!!!

MoYou Stamping Plate Suki Collection 07

I picked four different designs from the plate for variety on each nail. I like how subtle the stamping is with the pastels.

Semi-Quilted Coral Mani

For this quilted-style mani, I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Coral Reef. After waiting for them to dry completely, I used Konad special white and Vivid Lacquer stamping plate VL008 to get the cross-hatched white stripes. Finally, I used Color Club Abyss and a dotting tool to put a little splash of teal where the white lines intersected. What do you think?

Cult Cosmetics Blackbox September 2013

The Cult Cosmetics Blackbox for September 2013 is waaaaay better than the last one. I am super happy. Even though I got a dupe, I think it was well worth the money.

Mash Rhinestones Wheel. This has 12 different colored rhinestones.

OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Apps in Grey/Black Rattlesnake

From left to right: Essie No Baggage Please, Color Club Eternal Beauty (dupe for me), and Orly Black Pixel.

And here’s the mani I used using all supplies from Blackbox! (Except for tape and topcoat. :) )

Michael Marcus Relaxing by the Pool with a splash of Color Club Snowflakes

I received Michael Marcus Relaxing by the Pool in my July 2013 Wantable Makeup Box.  I did three coats of that and then did my accent nail in Color Club Snowflakes which is a small flakie white/holo glitter.

Relaxing by the Pool is an awesome jelly polish. I don’t usually like jelly polishes because I prefer more opaque looks but I am totally in love with this polish! I think it’s my favorite blue that I own!

Color Club First Looks

Color Club First Looks is from the In True Fashion Collection. When I was applying it, it looked like there was going to be a lovely duochrome effect with black and green. However, when it dried, there really was just black left over. If you strain your eyes really hard, you can see some green shimmer but this color is much prettier in the bottle!

Color Club Holo Swatches Part 2

Here’s the second half of my Color Club swatching extravaganza! You can view the first half here.

Kismet: Light Green

Over the Moon: Dark-ish Blue

Beyond: Black
Blue Heaven: Light Blue

Miss Bliss: Pink

Eternal Beauty: Purple

Eternal Beauty is my absolute favorite of the collection!

I am totally in love with this whole collection. You wouldn’t need to buy all of them, however. Many are very similar The light blues and greens look a lot like the silver.

This is the most “holo” holographic polish I’ve ever used. It’s an amazing rainbow even in just a little artificial light!

Color Club Gift of Sparkle

I got this Color Club Gift of Sparkle from a Facebook swap group that I’m a part of. It’s seriously beautiful. I can’t stop staring at my blue fingers. Plus, it’s scented! Unfortunately, I threw away the box already so I can’t even tell you the scent! Man! It kind smells like gingerbread or cinnamon. Something spicy like that. It’s from a collection called “Winter Affair”. What? It’s June? Oh well!
