I wanted to use some of my polishes from my recent China Glaze haul. I ended up getting the entire City Flourish Collection. This collection is gorgeous! It has cremes, shimmers, and neons. I love it!
This patchwork mani used:
China Glaze Don’t Honk Your Thorn (tan)
China Glaze In a Lily Bit (lilac)
China Glaze Spring in My Step (pink)
There are a handful of swatch pictures I’ve just been sitting on, so I decided to post them all for a Sunday Swatch-a-pa-looza!
Orly What’s the Password? is from the Secret Society Collection. It is a gorgeous burnt orange gold. This will be perfect for fall manicures next year! This is two coats.
L’Oreal Too Dimensional? is from the gold dust collection. It is a dark purple with a huge load of glitter shimmer. The gold and the purple tend to also reflect some green as the polish moves through the light. This is two coats.
Orly Lavis Bash is from the Secret Society Collection. This is a multi-shaped glitter polish with mostly bar glitters. This is three coats. This would look better layered over another polish.
Orly Fowl Play is a deep purple with different colored shimmers. This is two coats. It is very multi-dimensional in real life.
China Glaze Don’t Honk Your Thorn from the City Flourish Collection. This is two coats. It has a very subtle shimmer to it that I couldn’t pick up on camera. It’s not the best color on me as it’s nearly the same as my skin tone. :)
And these are the swatches that have been figuratively collecting dust! I hope you enjoyed them because I think they enjoyed coming out to play.
This mani was inspired by the move, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Specifically, the scene where Marilyn Monroe sings “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”. As you learned in the #LLAdoration post, I love Marilyn Monroe. Today (March 1st), when I changed my Marilyn calendar for the new month, it had a picture of her in the famous pink dress, covered in Diamonds. My first thought was:
That would make a great manicure.
So I did it! And I really like how it turned out. I used China Glazed Peonies & Park Ave from the new City Flourish collection. Then I simply placed striping tape and rhinestones at differing angles on the nails to give a sense of diamond bracelets. :)

Here’s my ode to Tiffany Diamonds…manicure style. :) Or, shoulc I say, Tif-faux-ney? Hahaha.
I used China Glaze For Audrey, China Glaze Fairy Dust, Mash Rhinestones, and HK Girl Top coat to seal it all in. I hope you like it!

When I’m feeling lazy, I do a simple accent nail. This day was one of those days!
For this mani, I used:
OPI Pussy Galore from the James Bond Collection
China Glaze Seahorsin’ Around from the Sea Goddess Collection
For this mani, I wanted to use striping tape to make rectangles and triangles.
I started with A England Encore Margot then I used China Glaze Infra-Red for the shapes.
First, let’s start with an A England Encore Margot Swatch
The China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection is another in the beautiful trend of textured polishes. Here are swatches of all 6 from the collection.
Wish Upon a Starfish is a light pinky peach with golden flecks. The gold flecks really catch the sun! This one is gorgeous!
Sand Dolla Make You Holla is a white, milky polish with multi-colored flecks. I needed three coats to get it opaque.
Shell We Dance: Dark glittery pink. This is two coats. This one is the shining star of the collection and if you only get one, it should be this one.
Teal the Tide Turns: A mint color. This one, I actually really dislike. It looks like mold. Also, it’s not teal at all! So why is it named how it is?
Seahorsin’ Around: Teal blue. This one is amazingly gorgeous. I can’t stop staring at my nails! It has flecks of light blue and gold. It looks different in different lights.
Tail Me Something: Shimmery Lilac
This is China Glaze Winter Holly which is an evergreen colored glitter! I needed three coats but it was worth it for all this shiny!
For this mani, I did China Glaze Be Merry Be Bright (from the HoliGlaze collection) over Sephora Formula X White Matter.
China Glaze Santa Red My List is from the new HoliGlaze Collection.
This color is gorgeous and amazing! I did two coats, but I really didn’t need to. It’s a dark pinkish red with a metallic finish. I love it!
This past weekend at my local Sally Beauty Supply, they had some really cute China Glaze holiday mini sets! I picked up one that had four mini polishes from this season’s holiday collection. Here are the swatches of Just Be-Claws and Put a Bow on it.
Just Be-Claws is a gorgeous holiday shimmery red. This is one coat!
Put a Bow On It is a very nice purple glitter. This could be worn with two coats without undies! What great quality!
It was quite the mail day today! I’ve now added 15 more polishes to my collection! 6 from the China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection and a bunch from Vivid Lacquer, mostly the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Collection. I’m going to be a busy nail-painting girl!
From left to right: Shell We Dance, Tail Me Something, Sand Dolla Make You Holla, Teal the Tide Turns, Seahorsin’ Around, and Wish Upon A Starfish.
These are supposed to be texture polishes which I’m a huge fan of! I can’t wait to swatch them for you!
And now for the Vivid Lacquer Buffy the Vampire Slayer Collection which I’m extremely excited for!
From left to right: The Bitch is Back, It Must Be Bunnies!, and Some Monster in her Man
From left to right: Band Candy, Demon Magnet, and Five by Five
From left to right: Five by Five, and Bored Now
SPOILER ALERT. Stop reading now if you don’t want to know what the freebie were when ordering on the relesase date.
These two are the freebies Ani included since I bought the whole set and spent a certain amount in her Etsy store. The one on the left is The Gentlemen Are Coming By. That’s right. A secret addition to the Buffy collection!!! It was a wonderful surprise! The one on the right is Trick or Treat? and has a lot of amazing and fun glitters!
China Glaze Split Perso-Nail-Ity is from the Tranzitions collection where the color changes if you apply a top coat. I decided to only apply a top coat to the ring finger as an accent nail. It did not go on evenly and it just looks messy. Additionally, the polish chipped very fast where there was no top coat. I typically love China Glaze polishes but this one is a fail in my book.
China Glaze Swing Baby is a gorgeous copper color.
This is two coats.
Zoya Kiki is one of my favorite colors of all time. It’s a hot pink with tiny shimmers in it.
Latticed Lilac is a crackle finish so I just put it on my ring fingers. I don’t know why I keep buying crackles seeing as I don’t like them very much! :0
essence off to miami! is a nice coral color. China Glaze Luxe and Lush is from last year’s Hunger Games collection. I like it because it really takes on the personality of whatever color is underneath it. In this mani, it looks like gold flakes! Gorgeous!
So I thought I should finally try my hand (pun intended) at doing galaxy nails. When I swatched the Avon Eclipse polish, it really reminded me of the night sky, so I started with two coats of him.
I then stamped China Glaze Cosmic Dust, China Glaze Take a Trek, China Glaze Infra Red, and Julep Vanessa in that order. I think my design came out a little too purple to really remind people of space, but I like it anyway! I hope you do, too!
For this easy crackle mani, I used Avon Starlight and the China Glaze Haute Metal. I like the contrast between the green and pink! What do you think?
For this mani, I started with two coats of China Glaze Mahogany Magic which is from last year’s Hunger Games collection. It’s a dark brown creme. Of course I had to start with this one because I was layering I Love Nail Polish Animal Cookie on top! My fingers looked like delicious cookies! The only bad thing was that I was craving animal crackers all day. :P
Here is the last swatch for the China Glaze Hologlam collection. I had a feeling that this one was going to be the best and I was right! It’s a gorgeous fuchsia that is somewhat reminiscent ManGlaze F#ck Off and Die. (Those of you that don’t know about ManGlaze, you should check it out! It’s amazing polish!)
This one is not as holographic as some of the ones I swatched first but it’s a beautiful color and would worth picking up.
This is the eleventh in the China Glaze Hologlam collection. This one is called Strap on Your Moonboots. It’s the least holographic one in the entire collections and I can’t even say that I like it very much. It looks like a shimmery dark blue-gray color. I wish there was more holo in this one.
So far, this is my total favorite from the China Glaze Hologlam collection. This one is Astro-Hot and is a light purple-pink. It’s freakin’ gorgeous!
And today we have the next ‘installment’ of the China Glaze Hologlam collection. This beauty is When Stars Collide. It’s a dark purple holo (of course) that is very pretty.
Here is another swatch from the China Glaze Hologlam collection. This is one of my favorites so far because it has one of the best holo effects.
