Black and Silver Nail Art

{Purchased by Me}{Press Sample}{Affiliate Links}

Today’s nail art was made using these lightening bolt nail guides from the Born Pretty Store. They sent these to me so I could review them for you. For my polishes, I used Orly Mirrorball and Orly Iron Butterfly, both of which I purchased myself at Sally’s.

Before we view the art, let’s look at Orly Mirrorball. The Facebook universe has been going wild for it with women rushing to Sally’s to get their hands on a bottle. In the bottle, it looks like a dull gray with some holo glitters. But once you get it on the nail – Oh Mama!! I haven’t seen any pictures that do this polish justice – including my own. Mirrorball is a linear holographic silver with holographic glitters. Holo on holo? Yes, please! If you want your fingers to look like a disco ball in the sun, then this polish is for you.

After eating a dinner of baked butternut squash dipped in ranch, I applied the lightening bolt decals in different spots on my nail. I had a hard time getting them to lie completely flat. You can tell there were some issues where there aren’t completely straight lines.

I like the overall look I was going for. I think my favorite nail is the one where the black is just on the tip….but that could be because I just love Mirrorball so much!
