I was sent three New York Color’s Showtime Velvet Eyeliners from their new velvet collection to review and test out for you! They sent me all three colors: Black, Black Wine, and Black Brown.
From their website:
Swatched from left to right: Black, Black Wine, Black Brown. These went on very smoothly. I did not have to “work” or press hard to get the pigment to transfer to my skin. That’s a good sign! Sometimes you can tell just from swatching on your hand that an eyeliner is going to be a big troublemaker. These were smooth and the color pigment has a good payout. I did one swipe with normal pressure and these were the results:
For the first look, I used Black on top and Black Wine on the lower lash line. I didn’t want the harshness of black on the bottom, so Black Wine was the prefect choice. It meshes well with the purple-toned eyeshadow (from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette) and the Black eyeliner.
I’m going to look down now and pretend that I don’t know my picture is being taken even though I’m taking it myself. This is a classic beauty blogger pose. ;)
For this second look, I used Urban Decay Naked Basics. It’s amazing how different the lighting is when pictures are taken at different times during the day! The first look was taken around 10 am last Friday. This look was taken at 6am on Monday. The sun was just rising, hence the warmer tones. Crazy! I used NYC Black Brown eyeliner on both the top and the bottom lash line for this look.
